Barrel Master is super tough now!

Anonymous

I'm having an issue where i can't log in with google on the patreon login screen. I noticed you mentioned we don't have to touch it but i can't seem to find a way to bypass it if thats what you mean.

digitalfurbelow

you don't have to touch the one after that in the actual main menu. The login with google doesn't seem like its compatible with unreal's browser so you have to login the normal way.

Anonymous

i've found a bug where you can't get bodyslam

Balina

Head scale keeps resetting every time the scene changes; it doesn't seem to be saving. Likewise, I seem to need to keep turning on IK animations every time I open the game.

Anonymous

How do you fight bosses after you beat them?

digitalfurbelow

yeah forgot to save that , same with IK, although IK I don't care too much because it won't be like a permanent thing you know? eventually ill flesh out/fix the system to where you can always have it on

digitalfurbelow

the bosses should spawn on the overworld after you defeat them. Turns out its bugged right now. I think the repeat fight ones are using the save of the original, probably going to do a hotfix next week with some of the stuff fixed.

Anonymous

You can enter the skills menu through the "Settings" menu before starting the game.

Anonymous

I got stuck in a battle VS two maruders. Used Leg sweep, one died the other stayed alive and buttons stopped doing anything. Got it to unfreeze by using a breast essence.

Domadet

You can fight the lich repeatedly, but you have to turn in the quest with the apothecary before he will spawn again. I can't figure out how to fight the barrel master again, or if that's still bugged.

Anonymous

Not sure if this is a bug but getting a respec does not keep points obtained from essences.

Sonicshadow

I can second that observation and you do lose all points from essence when you respec.

Sonicshadow

The bodyslam skill will not activate for me, not sure if it is the same for others.

I pretty recently hopped on the Patreon bandwagon. It's nice to see the progress you've made so far! I've compiled a list of bugs, minor grammatical errors, and suggestions. I apologize for the length (particularly for the grammar section), but I hope this helps! Bugs: - If the window size is too small, the button to continue after winning a battle will be off screen. - Some enemies don't give out EXP anymore, such as the Hourglass Knight and the Marauder hiding in the barrel. - Health isn't always consistent after battles. I'd sometimes notice myself with 3 less health than my max when I hadn't taken any damage in the fight prior. I think one of the skills might be the culprit. - The respec option is certainly nice to have, but it doesn't take into account any of the growth essences used. Any attribute points gained from growth essences are lost upon respeccing. I'd recommend giving the essences back as items to be used at will again. - I noticed that my size stat was occasionally 10 more than it should have been. It was kind of temporary; sometimes I'd have the 10 extra stat points, sometimes I wouldn't. I'm fairly certain the size on start of turn skill is the culprit. - When you walk through a bush, sometimes it will try to give you an item and also an enemy encounter. The item text will briefly appear before the encounter, but the player will not get the item afterwards. I'd prefer starting the encounter before showing the item text, so the player doesn't know they would have gained an item. - It seems that you can perform your action while the start-of-turn skills are still applying. I don't know if this has an effect on the attack/spell used, but it'd be good to give a quick look into. - It seems like if you resize the window before applying settings, the window size will not change. Choosing a different resolution from the options will fix this (you do not need to hit apply settings, you can choose the original option again before applying) Grammar Errors: - In character customization, the "Lewd" option is not capitalized like the other options. - In character stats, the Bust hover text has a typo. "Intellegence" should be spelled "Intelligence". - In character stats, the HP hover text does not capitalize "muscle" or "fat" like other hover text. - In character stats, the SP, Strength, Intelligence, and Dexterity hover texts capitalize "Controlled" when it should not be capitalized. - In character skills, some skill descriptions do not start capitalized. - In character skills, some attributes (like "muscle" in the Rage skill) are not capitalized. - In character skills, the Rage descriptions should not end with a comma. - In character skills, the "LegSweep" ability should probably have a space, thus becoming "Leg Sweep". - In character skills, you might want to note that the "Fat Ability 1" skill only adds block up to your character's block stat - The Blacksmith's begin quest dialogue does not have a period at the end. - The Blacksmith's end quest dialogue should be capitalized and punctuated. - The Blacksmith's "Nevermind" dialogue is a bit informal. I'd recommend "Bye." as opposed to "bye". - Similarly, the Cook's dialogue doesn't have any capitalization or punctuation. - When first reading the Noticeboard, I'd recommend removing "pieces" from the sentence and ending with a period. - When first reading the Noticeboard, I'd recommend capitalizing "Lich". - In the Noticeboard's "Skills/Abilities" section, there is almost no punctuation. - In the Noticeboard's "Read Me" section, the ESC line should be capitalized to "Quit the game" or "Quit the Game". - In the Noticeboard's "Read Me" section, the second page does not have any periods. These would be nice to have, though the first line doesn't need one. - In the Noticeboard's "Lich" section, you might consider rewording this a bit. Perhaps "Need Lich destroyed. 200 Money reward. Talk to Apothecarist for further details." - In the Noticeboard's "Bushes" section, the sentence is not punctuated. - In the Noticeboard's "Barrels" section, I quite like the informal approach. It fits the character, so I wouldn't fix any grammar errors here. - In the Noticeboard's back, the sentence is not punctuated. - The Apothecarist's greeting is not punctuated. - The Apothecarist's begin quest dialogue should start capitalized and should end punctuated. It also looks like there might be an extra space between "the" and "base" in the first sentence. - The Apothecarist's begin quest's first dialogue option should start with "I'll bring". - The Apothecarist's begin quest's first dialogue response should be punctuated. - The Apothecarist's begin quest's second dialogue option should start with "It's" rather than "Its". - The Apothecarist's begin quest's second dialogue response should be "It's already undead. I need it re-dead." - The Apothecarist's begin quest's third dialogue response should be capitalized and punctuated. - The Apothecarist's last statement when beginning the quest should be "It's dangerous out there. Take these." - The Apothecarist's essence explanation should be punctuated. - The Apothecarist's "not enough to transmute" dialogue should be capitalized and punctuated. It might also be good to reiterate exactly how much it costs to transmute here. - The Apothecarist's first transmute dialogue should be capitalized. - The Apothecarist's finished transmute dialogue should not capitalize "Go" and should be punctuated. - The Apothecarist's "Nevermind" option should be changed like the Blacksmith's, however you'd like to deal with that. - Some attack descriptions are not capitalized. - The "Maureder" enemy should be spelled "Marauder". - Pretty much every dialogue the Plush has should be punctuated. - The Plush "Goodbye" dialogue option has a typo, and it is currently misspelled as "Goodybe". - The Plush "Goodbye" dialogue response has a typo. "wonderfull" should be spelled "wonderful". - The item description for Burger does not have a space between "20" and "HP", which differs from the description for Fries. I'd recommend having the space there, but at least make it consistent. - The item descriptions for growth essences should all be capitalized. - The item description for the key should have "blacksmith's" capitalized to "Blacksmith's" - The item description for the Roundel should be "A dagger for stabbin'". There might be similar issues with the Lich's dialogue and the Lich end quest dialogue with regards to capitalization and punctuation, but I don't currently have the time to check that. I might check these tomorrow. Suggestions: - It'd be good to combine stat changes into one value. "Size +30" looks better than three "Size +10"s, and it would prevent the long lists of stat changes in longer battles. For larger values, a single "Size X3.4" (or whatever value you've got) rather than a "+" value would also be a good idea. - Maybe apply some sort of health bonus when increasing health max mid-battle. Perhaps something like half of the health max increase is given as health. It'd make increasing your own health max functional even without any form of healing and would make it harder to challenge enemies who benefit primarily from health-based stats. - This is perhaps my own personal preference, but I'd consider reducing the initial size of some body parts to make their starting growth a bit more memorable. The muscle stat is what I think is done best; your arms start out as twigs, but adding points lets you go from a below average build to something that looks far stronger. It can encourage throwing a few stat points that way just to fill it out a bit, even if it's not one of your primary stats. By contrast, most other stats already start out looking average if not better than. - Again, this might be personal preference, but I'd consider reducing the length of the tail (or maybe give an option to control its length). It seems a bit too long to me right now, though having the option to make it longer/larger in the same vein as "Ego" could be fun. - One more personal preference suggestion: what about some sort of "Illusionist" NPC who can reduce the visual size of your attributes? Suppose I'm going for a sort of muscle build, but also want the benefits of fat. I might not want the fat to appear on my character, since I'm aiming for a more muscled look. The illusionist would (perhaps with a fee) allow me to choose an attribute and set a value below that attribute's current value. Then, the appearance of that attribute would match the chosen value, but the stat benefits of the full attribute would still be applied to the character. In this example, my character would have the benefits of block and health while maintaining a heavy muscle look. Of course, this might go against the idea of this game, where your character's appearance directly reflects their stats. Now, with that giant wall of text out of the way, I just want to note that I really quite like this game. I just want to do what little I can to help make this game the best it can be. I understand that lots of criticisms and demands can be tiring, so I want you to know that I'm very impressed by what you have so far! I wish you the best of luck on this project!

Whenever you reallocate points with Plush, the points you gained by using growth essence are lost permanently.

John Smith

I'm unable to download the file apparently because of too many downloads. Definitely shows how good this project is.

Wolfie Randolf

Um, can't get past the Patreon logo screen unless I click on that, but then it freezes if I try to log in either way can't get into the game atm. Unless there's a key other than escape or mouse 1/2? EDIT: I managed to get logged in and past the screens and get into the game finally. Seems the initial log in might have frozen it.

digitalfurbelow

I didn't know that was a thing, I might need to look into something other than google drive for hosting,

digitalfurbelow

I think you wrote more about the dialog than the actual amount of dialog in my game. Thanks for the feedback though, and being my proofreader. have an isslusionist NPC sounds good, I was thinking to just make it a menu option like headscale, but if its an npc it can add to the gameworld

ChaseyBoi

Will we be able to transfer our last saves from the last version somehow?. When you re use your points all your Essence's you have used are lost. Also Hourglass nights dont give any XP at all. Also bodyslam does not seem to work for me. is that just me?.

digitalfurbelow

you can in this version, but you wont keep the stats since I had to redo how stats are stored. both of those have been reported, you can check the google doc at the bottom to see all the bugs that have been reported

The patreon log in page seems to freeze then crash for me

Redsaber

Liking the recent updates. That one giant bandit that showed up took me by surprise. The barrel master took me down hard. Really need to build up my character before facing off that beast. Will there be an option in character design that will feature tattoos?

digitalfurbelow

yep, unreal already has a decal system so it should be easy to implement, don't know exactly when ill do it though

ChaseyBoi

Another bug is that once you have defeated The Barrelmaster he spawns near the front of the potion shop but you cant fight him. You can with the litch but not the barrelmaster. After a save i spawn with 4 less health for some reason to or when I enter another area. And when you unlock the barrel you are forever in that "stance" even if you choose another weapon it does the same animation.

Mitchell Mobley

Head scale changes back to normal when you change area or enter battle. Not sure if that's intentional but I figured I'd mention it. I'm SLIGHTLY addicted to this game, keep it up its awesome. You're one of the people who makes me want to get into modeling and animation.
