"Call me crazy, call me utterly bananas, but I do believe I just thought myself into being sad...  Anybody else do this? I'm pretty sure this isn't an anomaly. If so, it's gonna be okay, dudes. We thought ourselves into this, we can think ourselves out of it. Slowly, but surely."

All the freaking time. It’s starting to piss me off honestly but hey councilling is helping

I've done this quite a few times. The key is to find something small that makes you feel good. Something funny, happy, heartwarming, whatever. Even if it only helps lessen your mood just a little, any little bit helps.

Ya I’ve done that before. Shit sucks.

Deadpool69

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I'll be doing just fine for once and then boom I think myself into sadness

SDH

I do it a fair bit. It sucks.

Blindluck92

Totally not just you. It's a thing. And it sucks. Sorry to hear that happened to you, but yes, you can also think yourself out of it. But because nothing is ever simple, it takes a bit longer.

I often think myself into anxiety; just because of the circumstances of my living situation. On top of that, I expose myself to a lot of thought processes that lead to depressing conclusions that haunt me every now and again. I am thankful for friends, family, and an overactive imagination for pulling me out of these fits~

Mitori

I do this way more than I care to admit, the mind can be a very good sabotage to a good mood, if it helps at all Tea you're not alone and we're here for you <3

My favorite philosopher says “The quality of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts” and it’s so true

Onionbro

Thanks to my anxiety I know that feeling way too well. One moment I'm enjoying whatever it is I do and two thoughts later I'm sad and have lost all motivation. Which really sucks when I still have work I need to finish. At least these moments appear rarer thanks to therapy.

Corey bossell

It's happened alot this past week what with all the terrible things that have happened though I'm to the point where I'm just burnt out emotionally physically and mentally

MaddeusNimrod

My depressive episodes usually start with these. My brain just going "hey remember this?" and then I feel sad and somewhat suicidal for the rest of the night.

Coby-O

I actually did today too. I was just doing work then thought about my life with no partner and suddenly felt depressed for a while. I think when these things happen, it’s like our issues or feelings will take advantage of them and grossly exploit it to make us feel even worse, so to speak.

deathmetal62

yep, that sounds like me. i've definitely had the thought "hahaha...now i feel sad" on plenty of occasions or from watching the news

David Murphy

Happy music helps.

Monkee Boy

Yeah.... It's really not hard to do. The Liar in my head has a very loud voice. I've learned methods of shutting him up though. 😁

Fangrend

My sad button is a bit defective so never thought myself into being sad. Now angry? At least once or twice a day.

June

Thank you 💕

Jmann1892

Its easy for sadness to drag us down But remember such thoughts can be defeated We're all gonna make it bros

AbyssmalSoup307

I think myself into sad often. Old memories and failures lurk in my mind’s corners waiting to remind me of them. Like you said though, “thought ourselves into this, we can think ourselves out.”

Not sad, but I do spend a lot of my days lead myself into feeling angry and losing motivation. I usually have to put effort into not letting it stick.

Jeremy Knight

I Spend a lot of time feeling frustrated, lonely, afraid, and sad. but yeah, no matter what happns everything will be alright.

Same bro 😔 Here's to keeping our heads up.

Mike Taylor

Richard Hardslab

Our thoughts have much more control over feeling and emotions than many people believe.

RikkaTikka

You are not alone (I think), and hopefully you can think yourself back to positivity.

J Drako

I've been thinking myself into sadness this whole month mainly cause my mom past away last November from cancer.

Iron Piedmont

I know how you feel, Tea. I often find myself thinking myself into sadness. Mainly over the various regrets I have had from growing up. Like not making enough or barely any friends, my behavior towards others, etc. I try to think myself back into being happy, but it's rather difficult.

Estya

I’ve done this. I realized what I was doing and very quickly so I got out of it but if you don’t realize it soon enough it can be bad. So don’t try this!!!
