I have little hope of this being seen (the community pages on Patreon bear a striking resemblance to a ghost town), but does anybody here contribute via PayPal, and if so, have your payments been declined as fraudulent? My bank has declined my credit card transaction as fraudulent twice in the last 2 months. If PayPal hasn't had any problems, I'm considering opening an account and switching from card to them for my contributions.

Ive been using PayPal for Patreon and so far hasnt had any problems. Should try using that instead.

PayPal recently changed where their servers are hosted, IIRC, which is the source of the rash of declines lately. My understanding is that this should fade with time and with transactions recorded on the new servers, though I can't verify where I read that. Should give a lead to look into though.

Hi Gary, i'm not using a credit card for my Patreon transactions but PayPal instead but haven't had any troubles so far. Nicholas mentioned something about PayPal hosting / using new servers - i live in an european country but dunno if this has something to do with my non-existing problems regarding the payment. *shrugs* I'm using my PayPal account for my Steam buyings as well and haven't had any problems there either (13 years by now). Hope it helps! P. S. thanks for putting this question here, Tea! I've read that some people occasionally had problems with PayPal over the course of the last couple of months.

paypal has been acting wonky for a lot of people, thankfully i havent had this issue so far (knock on wood) but i am aware that it has been a problem for many

I got a text from my bank yesterday saying that and I just finished talking to them and it was gonna be used on patreon so I got confuse on why that would be considered fraud but idk, it’s all good now....for now at least lol

I used my bank card and it does just fine. The first payment my bank withheld it for a day then (once I told them it was me spending that money) let this month's payment go without issue.

I have been having trouble with patreon for months now. No notice of failed payment from them but when I checked my account I see payment failed. Been trying different cc and paypal but nothing is working.

And now I'm dropped from your patreon posts? I'm lock out from your patreon only posts! Already? patreon this is upsetting there is obvious a problem with patreon and I'm blocked already.

Yupp mine did that this month saying something like unusual transaction and withheld it for like four days which is weird because I've been a patreon for months now?? I might have to switch to PayPal
