Hello patrons and welcome to another set of patron polls!

This month we'll be polling on the future of questline development in Claire's Quest!

As you may know, Claire's Quest features a multitude of different questlines, each of which has its own colorful cast of characters, kinks, and even unique areas!

In its current state, Claire's Quest allows players to roam free and choose whichever questline they want to embark upon. All well and good, but the thing is, certain questlines stretch on farther than others. Some have only one quest to their name despite being questlines. Others have as many as 5, even 6 quests in their progression.

This month's polls are to determine whether patrons would like us to focus developing and completing one questline at a time, or continue to branch out our development across multiple questlines!

Vote now!

I think so multi q is better cuz there are some quest need a certain amount of attributes. 1 quest line only may not suitable for some other choices.

For me I like one quest line developed fully at a time because its harder to flit between them: if lots of new lines get extended a little bit in each release, there's a lot of do-over to explore them all. If only one gets expanded, then you can come back fresh for the next one, and so on 🙂

While it would be more satisfying, from a narrative POV, to finish each questline at a time...I'm worried that it might force you guys to go: "Oh shit, gotta figure out Legacy mechanics, now that we reach the end of this one!" and it could set a precedent for other Legacy quests that later (as the game evolves) turns out to be not a good one...so from a gameplay stand point (and also appeasing a variety of kinks over time) I actually had to vote that you keep spreading it. Though thinking a bit more, I guess the upside of a Legacy ability being done ASAP is you can build other quests with it in mind faster too! It's just that the ones that got finished first would likely have content more easily integrated, as you do them first, while the ones you do last could get the short end of the stick, if that makes any sense.

My vote: Go with whatever is best for your development process.

Ruination Games

I say 1 at a time but be sure to properly plan out the mechanics, so that it won't cause problems down the line.

I have to say one at at time. While working on multiple quest is a good idea but it will lead to problems including bugs but I have to say that's your choice since your the one making the game and have to work on your own pace asking us will probably be a bad idea but for my say one at a time might get things done faster but I don't know. I wish you luck.

I'm not sure which I want to vote for. So I guess both? lol

I appreciate that your game tells me when a quest cannot progress any more. I would rather quest lines conclude, personally. But as long as you let me know I cant make more progress either is fine. I hate when games let me grind on without clearly indicating that nothing new will happen when I take a repeatable action.

I'll throw in my 2 cents as well: Working on more than one questlines at a time need you to spend more time on documenting your progress in each questline. There is more organization needed, and dependent on how many things you are developing at the same time the amount of documentation/organization might become overwhelming.

Some quests might have content that we dont feel comfortable with or that we rather not see (like futa content being a big no for me) so I think I would rather have small bits of many things to do than taking the chance of spending some time receiving patches of some quest that I rather not play or that it's not a big turn on for me.

Danielle

Honestly I'd say meeting in the middle, instead of focusing on 1 quest that might be something that some people don't feel comfortable with (futa for some people) [though I love futa myself lol] or multiple quests that might increase the chance of bugs or overwhelming you and the creators I'd say choose 2 quests and work on them so we have some variety but no undo stress or bugs on your end.

Why do you asking such a question? Can't you find the best workflow you like better? Whataver we here can suggest you might work or not depending on your development process and this is really chasing wild geese. Thanks for asking though.

I like to know how my patrons feel about things! And based off poll decisions it helps me know how I should set about designing and planning for the future to best cater to you guys' feelings (sometimes not exactly as voted on, but it's important for me to know what you guys seek)!

DemnorTheSwede

My biggest issue with the quests are that I can't seem to scroll down and read all of the information on my quests. It will only show what fits in the window and no more.

Leslie Campbell

Now that it seems that patrons have spoken, I am just wondering what it will do to the balance of the game, and what bugs doing it this way will cause?

Probably will not change things up too much! We have always approached questlines with an overarching progression in mind and have most of them planned out and ready. As things stand we will likely let the questlines progress individually a bit more so each one has a bit more to show before focusing our approach.
