Hi Jeff! Just to add onto the Lia Kim-Mina drama (I haven’t seen your reaction to this episode yet but wanted to let you know anyways) it did turn out 1Million was doing some fishy stuff because they’ve updated some YouTube videos since the first episode aired and credited the actual choreographers in the description so I think there’s something there for sure. Of course I understand both sides but 1Million updating YouTube info is highly suspicious and makes me wonder what other choreos 1Million failed to properly credit. There’s a difference between adding Lia Kim to the credits (which is understandable seeing as she oversaw and tweaked them) and not crediting the right people at all, which seemed to have happened at least a few times. And regarding the Redlic-Harimu drama, Harimu admitted to doing wrong so while I get where she was hurt from Redlic not asking her her side, Harimu did admit to being rude so I get why Redlic would be “done” with her considering what Harimu did could jeopardize her career and reputation. Just wanted to share before I jump into this reaction ^^

I can’t believe they edited out redlic talking about latrices body in the teaser, and saying that the only reason she won was bc they can’t compete with her physique. I was reading comments about how even Koreans are saying her comment was out of line. I feel like it’s weird that the only dark skin black girl is being portrayed as messy and “lazy” (which is also a stereotype that black people are put in, was really triggering). Music is a universal language and choreos should follow beats and grooves not just lyrics or it loses a sense of rhythm. They portray everyone else in jam republic in a better light I hope they do the same for my Latrice!

BADA is really on another level!! She can freestyle, she dances so well, and her choreo? top notch 💯 Total package she can do everything!! She's so cool I love her!! 😍 Kirsten is soooo good! 🔥 It's really between her and Bada. They devoured that!! Tbh I wouldn't mind as well both of them can be the main dancer. I think it just helps that Bada made the choreo so it's really tailored fit for her. Loved the interaction between Bada and Kirsten 🥰 also both under Jam Republic Agency, besties in the making? HAHA I'm glad the leaders picked the best one, they wanted to have the best performance and they all believe that Bada can make that happen. Can't wait to see the full ver! 🙌🏻❤

As a native korean speaker, I totally agree with monika. Korean is very complicated language. For example, there are more than 10 words which mean yellow in korean and each word has slightly different meaning and nuance. I often look up kpop translated lyric videos when I find some exquisite lines in korean and I've hardly seen well translated things. Also in this case, the song smoke has lyrics hard to translate with proper nuance I think.

omg yes agree! and the way the they have latrice in the preview for next weeks episode and how all these dancers have issues with her is already triggering me. as much as ive been enjoying the show idk why they added all redlics comments about latrice and latrice ending up in TEARS last episode just for them to glaze over it here in this episode. its basically setting up latrice to be edited however which way cuz it doesnt give context to why she and all these sub leaders have tension and editors could easily make it look like latrice just has an attitude problem which im scared about cuz she along with the rest of JAM republic have been so positive and are there to have fun. ALSO i found it so annoying that the sub leaders went in on latrice in front of the judges as if they had the hardest time learning the dance but danced perfectly fine anyway

Everyone simping on Bada Lee (including me) after her audition with Kirsten but unfortunately, she's taken 😭 I heard she's dating Howl from JustJerk and they've done a couple of dancing vids together! BTW, Chenle LOVES this show. He started following Bada and he even sent the smoke audition vid to Jisung so we might get a Jisung smoke challenge soon 👀 (he said he'll properly watch and try to learn it!)

Also, I'm just so amazed with the fact that all 3 main dancers/center for Leaders class from all the seasons (SWF1, SMF, SWF2) Noze, Vata, and Bada were part of TEAM KAI (center of all centers) 😍 They're all iconic. KAI picked the best ones 👏🏻💯❤🔥

So you were asking if Akanen worked with XG, I don't know if she did but actually they released CREW INTRODUCTION/CREW SONG PERFORMANCE, Tsubakill are dancing on a song done by Maya and Cocona from XG. You also asked if it was part of a mission, I don't think it will be part of the mission because we are already voting on the app about those introductions so you can react to it. I feel like it's mostly to introduce the crews and in some videos they also put the name of the members. Cera is just crazy, she showed her signatures moves but I also love she took a signature outfit like you know it's her. I was going insane seeing Cera on one leg wearing heels and doing waacking. The waacking trio Cera/Wackxxxy/Yoonji in MANNEQUEEN is crazy honestly and I love how their style are quite different. Kristen X Wackxxxy battles will remain forever legendary for me, they are so good together. I wish I could see Buckey battle too, she was the one in the rookie crew (green/orange outfits), it might have been interesting since she do krump I'm also sad we didn't see more ACE/CREW battles. I know that Mini (Wolf'lo pink lover members) posted about it on her instagram, it's sad their crews battles wasn't aired especially since it seem like she was proud of it. It's kind of annoying especially since MNET didn't post any of the others crews battles on THE CHOOM channel, at least you could do that. I really hope they do it because a lot of viewers asked for it. CLASS MISSION Honestly the leader class seemed really chill, MNET adding music for the tension always 🤣 I remember TRIX talking about this challenge on STREET MEN FIGHTER GALA, he was talking about how comfortable / in good mood they were and MNET staff was like "this is a competition, don't smile, keep a straight face and judge them with comment" 😭 I love the mindset of the leader who were "we want the best choreography" and that's it The Bada VS Kristen was crazy, I wish they could have been both main dancers, their energy is so great together I love the Rookie and Sub-Leader choreography too. Capri choreography look so fun to do, I honestly liked Capri because I felt like she really was suiting the song but still happy for Rena. I just really hope they don't change this part of Capri choreography because I definitely liked it. For Sub-Leader, they were no hesitation, I don't think anybody could have take Latrice choreography at all.

I think Monika wanted to say that both of them dance well so It was hard to choose but Bada conveyed the meaning of the song better cuz she understood the lyrics. That's why Monika said the song wasn't fair to Kirsten.

They said its still a win for Jam Republic😅. Bada is signed under Jam Republic, same with Akane and 2 others in Tsubakill. Been a fan of Bada since Kai's Reason.

This season is absolutely crazy already. We can actually see why some of them are among the top choreographers and some are also world-class battlers. I honestly can't wait for the battles and other mission. Especially the mega crew mission.

Before or After the judges announced the main dancer for Sub Leader, Redlic made a comment that Latrice is competing /won with physical strength (body), implying that Latrice won because of that and not because of her effort (I just hope she's not body shaming her). You can actually see that the girls are confused why Redlic said that. After that Latrice said that she knew Redlic is her rival but after hearing what Redlic said her thoughts was changed, on this episode they only aired the scene/convo where Redlic is crying but actually after the battle Latrice cried too saying she thought she was being respectful to them, the context for that wasn't clarified because Mnet cut those scenes because they received a negative comments specially Redlic from netizens. It was all in the preview of Ep 1.

I really like showmanship and all, but I just love Akanen's fluidity. It's very evident on her choreo videos. Also, some of the leaders actually attends her classes whenever she teaches at Korea (mostly under 1 million). I wish TsubaKill had more screentime

slightly off topic but sometimes I think about how I would love you to do your reactions and analysis while watching the show Street Dance of China but I understand It might be outside of your K-media preferences. tbf though, SDC does have Chinese K-Pop idols participating in it as judges (such as Tao from EXO, also Lay from EXO, Wang Yibo from UNIQ, Jackson Wang from GOT7, and Henry Lau from Super Junior) you get some Chinese idols participating too as contestants sometimes. It's filled with amazing street & technical dancers, and as the season progresses - it is also filled with amazing international and diverse dancers/legends. You get to see more dance mediums and forms being celebrated, appreciated and overall utilised (like Contemporary, Ballet, Tango. Traditional, Tap, etc. all of them tbh). I don't know if you'll be interested but I decided to say this anyways just in case, I'll take my chances of asking! there are 5 seasons of it so far, although s1 has no eng subs but it's completely fine to just watch from s2 if you wanted to (all on the youku official yt channel). I personally just love to watch you commentate on actual dance related things and your perspective and knowledge of it all, it's very interesting and a good learning opportunity for me.

I second this!! It focuses more on different dances and there’s no drama. it’s so interesting to see dancers from different countries besides the US, Japan, and Korea. They have many Europeans and OG worldwide known street dancers. Also, it’s so interesting to see people who specialize in a specific area of dance learn or collaborate with a different area of dance!

I preferred SDC after watching 1 ep of this. The way these dancerrs talked to other group was too much for me. They all acted too tough like you have to be badass talker or dancers in order to be good dancers. SDC didn't have that way. They just dance their ass off and sbow that how good they were . There were alot of female dancers but they didn't talk like that. No judgment on how you look or where you come from. Just my opinion.

Word physical피지컬 is kinda konglish it contains multiple meanings. Not only about body shape but also physical abilities that can make those amazing moves especially when the word is used in context about dance or something athletic. And 피지컬 is very positive word in korea. Korean used it like 'what a amazing physique!' and it's 99 percent compliment for sure. Even when a person use it as a bad way for example, as Redlic said "Latrice olny has physical피지컬", it sounds like "Latrice was lazy and didn't prepared so I wanted to say something bad about her but still her physical condition and physical abilities were stunning" to native korean speaker. You can find those comments written by korean speaker on bada lee's yt clips about not only her tall and long limbs but also her big movement like "look at her physical와 피지컬 봐", "her physique is insane피지컬 미쳤다". So in this reason I don't think that she Redlic did her comment with racial way. But also agree she should've been careful... words can give different nuances and meanings to different listeners and sometimes it can be rude for a person who have different cultural background. To me to be honest, I didn't recognized that Redlic's comments could be that problem (I thought she talk very softly while other contestant talking quite offensive for show's dynamic) so I learned a lot in this situation.

a correction: 1million credited tina as an ASSISTANT. lia kim made all of gashina. she has collaborated with tina multiple times before and when they actually worked together on choreography the videos are titled as tina boo x lia kim. same with other choreographers, videos have always been titled harimu x lia kim, minny park x lia kim, dabin x lia kim, etc. what mina's problem was with how the pay was split and she ended up spreading an (incorrect) assumption about lia and tina.

I'm missing this show so much but I didn't want to watch it alone 😅.. in response to Monica's comments on the leader mission, I think she meant when they were creating choreography. If the song was in english Kirsten had a higher chance of winning. But that's an empty comment in the end since it wasn't an english song and Bada slayed while Kirsten embodied the choreo as she always does. She's a main dancer for Parris Goebel for a reson🤷🏽‍♀️
