I'm really happy about this lineup even though some of my faves didn't make it, and definitely really happy about Ricky and Gunwook ranking so high, I started losing hope for them when they weren't announced yet and I jumped of my seat when they were called ! I was the happiest when they announced Hao as 1st ! The thing is, I gaslight myself (so did most of his fans) into thinking his rank must've dropped when they announced some of the interim ranking (they only showed 3 trainees) and it got me so anxious as names kept being called until they showed Haobin as 1st place candidates. For some reason, I wanted Hao to place first. As much as Hanbin deserved this number one spot, it's such an achievement for a foreigner to place first in an Mnet survival show, this is definitely going down in history. There's some videos of the trainees (even the eliminated ones) reacting to Hao getting 1st place, it's so heartwarming to see the g group trainees being so supportive and genuinely celebrating with each other. Having a foreigner, especially a Chinese (Mnet hates them...), rank first is such a pride and ray of hope for them all :)) I'm really glad that Yujin gets to debut with his protection squad, he's gonna be so loved and cherished by his members. Also this group is really balanced I think and definitely have great chances of going viral in the future. I'm going to stan them (might probably ult as well as I'm so attached to them), really excited to see what they have in store for us ! This is genuinely the first time you could see that the finalists were all so close with each others, that's why it's even worse for the ones who didn't make it... Ps : I hated the name at first but I'm kinda getting used to it now 😭

Mnet banned some of chinese devices before final days. made drama and evil edit to Matthew & Ricky (Ep 7,8,9,10). Matthew & Ricky got a lot of hate & their ranks went down/ unstable. didnt give screen time to some of talented G Trainees ( WangZihao, Hiroto, ChenKuanJui). Mnet showed all of main vocal parts during third mission (ep 9,10). But Mnet only cut Jay main vocal parts and didnt give screen time to Jay. I know Mnet did a lot of evil edit stories in previous shows. But this time is different. Mnet did so hard to cut of G trainees. All of these kids left their counties and came to korea for their dreams (have to sing different language, cant come back to their parents, tried to communicate so hard). If Mnet didnt want so many G trainees in debut team, dont give creen time to g trainees (its okay). But dont do evil edit. All of these kids deserve love but not hate coz of mnet. So,I tried so hard to support G trainees. Used 4 devices_4 accs for Hao, Ricky, Matthew, Jay (voted these 4 kids usingmy family devices 🤣). Now, I was happy with the final lineup. Althrough Mnet worked hard to cut of G Trainees, (Hao got rank1, Matthew & Ricky got high ranks). Congrats to top 9. For me, it is great line up (All rounders like Gun Wook, Hanbin, Hao, main vocal_ Tarae, Golden Maknae_Yujin, Leader_ Ji Woong, Great Stage Presence _Ricky_Gyuvin_Matthew. Also, I'm waiting Jay Solo Debuts, Keita Ciipher CB, Kamden FNC debut, Wakeone trainees debut, Yuehua trainees Debut). All of these talented (K&G) trainees did great job during these 3 months 👏👏. But Not Mnet 🐍

As of now I’m just okay with the line up, most of my faves got eliminated, specially Jay which he was so close at 10th place… only Matthew from my top picks made it… so mainly because of him I will be looking forward to their debut. Maybe the line up will grow on me over the time

I like the line-up a lot, especially that Gunwook and Ricky made it. I was in public when Ricky was announced and I still let out a scream 😅 I would've prefered Park Hanbin as number 9 instead of Yujin though, but I'll get over it. 😁 My actual ideal lineup is completely different anyway, but most of those trainees were eliminated beforehand.

Because you asked about Jiwoong and if he always wanted to be an idol and just started acting first: he actually debuted before in 2016 in a group called INX. They had only 1 comeback I think and then they were disbanded due to problems in the company. He then almost debuted again in a group called ATEEN who then also had huge issues with the company officials (6 of the I think 10 predebut-members sued the CEO for sexual assault). So it’s definitely something he has been wanting since forever, he just never got the right opportunity! He said acting is something he enjoys a lot (he actually has a Netflix drama coming up next week lol booked and busy even though we don’t know what kind of role he has, so it could be very small) but nothing makes him happier than singing and dancing :)

My top 3 picks (Zhanghao, Shanbin and Gunwook) made it so, I can’t be anything but happy. Although I’m very sad about Keita, Phanbin and Jay, I really wanted to see them in this lineup. But Zhanghao (my 1 pick) winning as the first foreign P1 in history made me so incredibly emotional and proud!

My main picks Keita and Jay not making is definitely gonna take some time to get over but I'm looking forward to ZB1 releases regardless! My other picks made it like Hao and Matthew so there's still a lot i can look forward too. What a wild journey and I'm glad you reacted to it! It was a fun if stressful experience lol

Im actually not surprised about the Top3 or Gunwook being in the lineup. But between Keita not making it and their name Im actually really shocked. But also not entirely surprised about everyone else. Also Im return with the Fantasy Boys suggestion. Its not as goofy and low budget as alot people on tiktok is making it seem like. Also I waited for your reaction as always. It was so hard to not login on my social media apps. I settled on watching a couple of BL's while waiting.

My one pick JAY did not make it to Final Top 9 (he's in Top 10 so closeeee 🥲) but most of my pick still made it so I'm still grateful for that. This batch of Top 18 is super solid so tbh whatever the results I'm still very much okay. They're all so talented and deserving of the spot so I'm stanning them for sure! same with those who did not make it, I'm still gonna support them. They all deserved it! 💚💚

Am I surprised by the lineup, not really. Disappointed, yes. JongWoo, Keita, PHanbin not debuting is a huge let down for me, despite knowing it was unlikely. I'll still check out the groups content because I also love SHanbin, Matthew and JiWoong, but as a whole the group doesn't really vibe for me. That's just personal opinion since I rationally know they are all very talented.

I'm manifesting a debut for JongWoo, Keita, Phanbin, Jay, Haruto, Seungeon, and Kamden together (screw company contracts, just make it happen universe!!) I prefer smaller groups, but could handle a 9 person with Seunghwan and ZiHao added in, lol.

I saw so many Jiwoong fans who decided to vote for other trainees once they saw the ranks for episode 11 because they said Jiwoong was “safe” but I'm just so glad he made it after everything he's been through (also him in hot summer omggg i’m no glad he decided to do sub vocal 2) Two of my picks didn’t make it, which were Kum Junhyeon and Park Hanbin :( but I'm sure there will be many opportunities for them in the future including all the other eliminated trainees! I was so surprised and happy for Gunwook when he ranked 5th. Seeing Junhyeon crying and Gunwook suddenly breaking down when he saw Junhyeon during his speech made me cry. Overall I’m so happy with the final lineup and I really like everyone in this group! I’m so excited to support this group and I'm wishing the best for them.

Thank you for the reaction i really enjoy it. My one pick was Keita, so sad he didn’t make it. Beside waiting for ZB1 debut, will you be checking out other trainee’s group like Ciipher (Keita’s) and NINE.i (Sewoon’s).

I've had some time to think about the final lineup and I realized I really, really like it. I can tell they'll have great chemistry and they are all talented. I'm disappointed Keita or Phanbin didn't make it but I think I would've supported any of the 18 debuting.

❗️long post about Matthew❗️(sorry in advance but I just want to share my thoughts as a Seokryudans) For the last few episodes it’s been really hard for us and Matthew as well especially on twitter, so many defamations, allegations, scandals, death threats, they even sent a protest truck! No one can tell how many acc I reported and how many screenshots I took and it really hurt us because we know Matthew knew what is happening and he still shows his beautiful smile. After ep11 many of us was shocked that Matthew was 9th place which I know and I believe because many Seokryudans thought he is safe but heck when I thought about it I think it is blessing in disguise, since that episode I saw many Seokryudans became Seokryumad (which includes me also 😂) we made sure that every poll in twitter that has Matthew’s name on it will win, made our co-workers, friends, family vote for him, some also made collaborations to other fandoms just to make sure our sunshine will debut! I didn’t even sleep when that killing part video thingy was uploaded just to stream it .(but still happy tho cause Hao did justice to that song) then I realized that we are really big subfandom. FINAL EPISODE. heck I was really nervous because mnet didn’t release interim ranking of Matthew last Monday. To be honest I lost hope when Matthew was not called in po4, but I literally screamed and cry when I hear his name in po3! I was really happy because it feels like the heavy thing in my chest had been uplifted 😭 all Seokryudans have a reaction like Jeff when he was called because every Seokryudans know what Matthew and us been through and seeing him walking to his po3 chair literally a life changing for us. sorry again for my rant, I am just happy that our hardwork and perseverance paid off. (still sad tho that Keita and Jay didn’t make it)

I'm the same. If I look at the people who didn't make it, it's all power vocals and rappers. And I wanted more power vocals and rappers, cause this line up looks kinda bland like this. It's all dancers and visuals. I would've wanted more variety in terms of skill and character. If some CEO was smart about it, he would take the group who didn't make it and debut them, cause they have the potential to be some Big 4 type of group, like Exo meets Stray Kids kind of vibe.

So happy Gunwook is in here. There's so much lore about him that most people don't know about. Like not only was he constantly class president and vice president and won debate contests, he also skipped a grade, won a regional soccer tournament, was the only guy in an all-girl dance club (thus popularizing it among the men in high school) and he volunteered at an animal shelter and loves cats. He competed in Wild Idol at 16 (and got recognized by incredible legends in K-Rap and K-pop (Tiger JK, Sunggyu, Hyeyeon from SNSD, Minzy from 2NE1, Jun.K from 2PM, Ph1, etc.)). And he got the second most Korean votes out of all the contestants for the final!!!! I can't wait for more people to learn more about him, like he's just so sweet he'd give out candy to people that gave him high five's in school. All that being said, I still want to recommend you watch Wild Idol sometime soon. There are mentors for each field (rapping, singing, dancing) that are credible and all get a great amount of screentime. I'd say it's more talent-centered and focuses more on those skills than any other survival show I have seen. You win points by winning missions in rapping, singing, or dancing (the mentors decide who wins) and they really do affect placement amongst public voting. Plus Ph1 is there and actually gets screentime and the trainees are given actually advice that isn't just "You're disappointing" and "Get better". Fantasy Boys is the most recent boy group survival show and I mean this with all the love but it's a bit of an (entertaining) train wreck. Like Soyeon does not hold back with her criticisms of the boys but the show is refreshing for the sheer factor it's rawer (after the audition episodes) than other ones. As the contestants bicker about distributing the song, you see the very real xenophobia amongst some of the Korean trainees, you see how important Visuals are, and how much potential is weighed compared to the skill level of some trainees. You also see how important it is to speak up about the parts you want and that if you don't market yourself no one else will. Plus there is a contestant there that has 16 years of dance experience and shares the same dance teacher as TAEMIN. It's not as focused on skills as Wild Idol is but it's still an interesting and entertaining (for better or worse) show to fill the void that Boy's Planet and Peak Time will leave. Some very talented contestants too. I still recommend Wild Idol above it though because you'll love the mentors and focus on skills. Plus Kamden and Gunwook are there lol.

Thank you Jeff for even doing the final episode while you’re with your family! It’s sth not a lot of people would think about while they’re with their relatives but it just really shows that you genuinely loved the show and that makes me incredibly happy! The name zerobaseone is certainly a name that nobody predicted lol. So many ppl got used to saying bep1er so using another name for the group will certainly take some time. I really like using their acronym though, zb1. Jelly Pop is such a great song. I didn’t mind the lip syncing too much, just that sometimes you could tell they were having trouble with the timing (telling about how much they were focused on singing live, they never learned how to lip sync lol). Hot summer is a huge bop as well! If I had to choose I’d still pick Jelly Pop though. Not Alone is such a beautiful ballad. To be honest, I was low-key expecting some kind of dedication to Moonbin at the end of the song but since they already had one at the beginning it makes sense they didn’t do it another time. If these + the artist songs were any hint as to what music we can expect from them, it’s clear they’ll have a great discography. Now onto the final lineup. The lineup was certainly to be expected for the most part but there were a few surprises for sure. It’s not my 100% ideal lineup (that being Zhang Hao, SHanbin, Matthew, Junhyeon, Gunwook, Taerae, PHanbin, Keita, Jiwoong) but I think I’ll be very happy with 6/9 of my picks making it! Especially since it seems like the real lineup was well received in Korea so their domestic success is basically guaranteed if their music is up to par. Also let’s talk about Taerae since he was my one pick and one of your two picks. How can he be SO endearing? Like even him dancing slightly awkwardly is just really cute hahaha. His voice will most definitely shape their sound in interesting ways and I’m excited to see how he sounds interpreting more recent sounding songs. All in all I’m VERY excited for their future and I believe they’ll be very successful both globally and in Korea. I’ll be closely following them and you following them so I

(commenting before watching your reaction) Honestly, I'm unfortunately not very enthused because while I liked all the top 18 and wouldn't mind any combination of them debuting, none of my absolute favs except for Taerae made it. Speaking of Taerae, it's also a bit strange for me because none of his really close friends on the show (the rest of the Wakeone trainees especially Park Hanbin & Lee Jeonghyeon and Junhyeon) made it either, so it's going to be a bit weird to see them all be separated for the next 2.5 years without any guarantee of them all getting to debut together again at some point. My one pick through the show was actually Seunghwan, but after he was eliminated last time I wanted Park Hanbin to make it so badly - he's just so damn ready to debut, and he's excelled at everything he does. And Keita and Jay also getting so close but not making it here was very sad. But yeah, a lot of great trainees were not going to make it anyway because all of them have done really well. So that said, obviously the ones who made it fully deserve to be there. I'm especially happy for Jiwoong for finally hopefully getting a stable group after everything he's been through, Zhang Hao and Sung Hanbin getting 1 and 2, and Gunwook debuting which was the biggest surprise (though his speech to Junhyeon made me so, so sad). Even if right now I don't see myself actually ulting this group right away, I do have high hopes that ZB1 will do really well (though this name is so weird to me lol - it's the name of Wanna One;s reality show! As a Wannable I can't get over it). I actually wasn't planning to watch this live as it aired because I'm still very sad about what happened to X1, but the trainees here were just so good and deserve all the hype. I hope ZB1 have a very fulfilling career ahead, and I can't wait for the other trainees to also get their time to shine - hopefully very soon!

i like the lineup but i don't think i'm gonna stan this group haha i was really here just for the show :D we'll have to see how the music sounds but i usually prefer groups that are more vocal heavy and i don't really see that happening with these guys.. ((also i wish the members were a bit older since stanning underaged idols makes me kind of uncomfortable :( )) but yeah i'll definitely watch variety show content with you but will probably skip the groups own shows and stuff like that! thank you for the reactions tho i've been enjoying them and i'm looking forward to more peak time episodes next month!! also since i originally subscribed for your kdrama reactions i'm curious do you have plans on doing another one after finishing peak time or later this year? i'm still hoping for 2521 haha

I am not mad at Gunwook making to the final 9 but Keita not being there is really shocking. I knew that korean fans didn't vote for him that much but he was always in top9 with the international votes so I thought maybe Yujin or Gyuvin were not going to make it but guess I was wrong. I think I just take for granted that some trainees will absolutely will be debuting and one of them was Keita. Keita will have brought a lot of good things for the group. I am sorry but I don't like the group's name. Like what the hell... but maybe it's because I was used to calling them BP or Bepler. For the trainees who couldn't debut I am so sad for them. Broke my heart seeing P Hanbin and Hui crying. Also shocked me the final ranking cuz I thought Jongwoo would be at least 11 or 12. S Hanbin already getting hate in Korean media for thanking Ravi is also some shit that I don't want to hear and specially in times like this, it is absolutely horrible to be hating on idols. I think I am getting post-BP depression like I am happy for the top 9 but also so sad for the other 9 trainees. I just don't know but these are scary times and make me worry 😭.

Gunwook was actually a rapper before the show so i feel like he's gonna be the main rapper

So many people laughed at the group name. Firstly, one of WANNA ONE show was called like that, also in some country the sound of the group name have a meaning, like some eliminated Chinese trainees were laughing (Shuaibo, Cai Jinxin, Zihao talking to Wumuti) because the name zerobaseone (ZB1) have some Chinese gay slang, 0 is bottom and 1 is top. In others countries, it can mean dick and some people who are Polish said ZB can be used in chatting sites to say 'are you pervert?’ Other than this : Can I say I'm cursed at this point? 😂 None of my picks making it. Wumuti eliminated, Kuan Jui eliminated, Haruto too, Seunghwan, Cong also Dongyeol and Hwanhee having to leave. Keita was my last pick standing but still didn't make it. I was bitter I can't lie. He mostly didn't make it because firstly his 1PICK in Japan wasn't as strong as people were thinking (If I saw correctly Gunwook 1PICK was way stronger in Japan), some saw him going up during last episode so they might have letting him but no lie I would probably say he didn't make it because Koreans. Koreans vote during the live count way higher than international and Koreans fans hated Keita for nothing, I will never forgive them for being so nasty with him just because he is short? When you see them in their theater when Keita appear and they start being silence, it's nasty, even worse for Jongwoo who got silence + was laughing at, a Keita stan even said when she was hyping him during the live, she got nasty look. Honestly when you see those reactions, I'm still kind of glad he didn't make it, I just hope people could check and start getting interested in CIIPHER. They really need it with RAIN not promoting them as he should. Also if you look, MNET started cutting Keita screentime little by little at the end. Still, I will say I really like the lineup, I'm happy seeing Jiwoong making it as someone who followed him since INX. Someone explained about him and his journey, he really had it rough so I'm glad and happy he finally shine. I'm so happy to have Matthew, Zhanghao and Ricky, especially Zhanghao being P01. First non korean center, I wanted him to be first at some point and it happened during the final, I couldn't ask for more. Chen Kuan Jui falling into his knee, he was so proud of his best friend. Ricky had a big 1PICK fanbase also he was well know among people who don't watch BOYS PLANET. Also, we can think that Wang ZIhao had a big 1PICK fanbase, so I feel like most of them ended up voting for the others chinese trainees. Hanbin got me since episode 1 when he covered ONF. He wasn't my pick but I really liked Gunwook so I'm happy to have him in the lineup. Hwanhee first to jump of his sit when he was announced, really Gunwook's dad. Still I'm sad Kum Junhyeon couldn't join Gunwook his bestfriend and Gyuvin since both form DOG UNION. I don't mind having Gyuvin, I didn't understand the hype but saw one of his fancam from HOT SUMMER yesterday, he definitely got the stage presence I feel like MNET didn't capture well. For Yujin, I didn't want a minor in the lineup but now that's it done, it's done you know, I only hope people will behave and hope we can protect him. Now that I talked about the whole group, I would just said, I'm annoyed at MNET for asking Wumuti to speaking. I get he is one of the popular trainees who got eliminated, one of the G-GROUP member who speak the best korean but he wasn't well, still griefing and I wish they wouldn't have to make him speak, it's hurt to see him try to smile and make it seem like everything is fine when the whole show it seemed like he could have broke down at any moment if it wasn't for Wang Zihao support.

im just gutted for jay, he was so damn close (im gonna be honest, im not keen on a child being in a group i stan) and the fact we now know that he was the target for the interim ranking and mnet’s last attempt at getting hanbin that first place spot before the finale. i just feel so bad for park hanbin having been mnet’s sacrificial lamb to take g-group down. i guess being yurina’d is now just the j-group curse. i feel so bad for keita he just looked so over it on stage, because he probably knew what his k-votes looked like. my 1-picks were also pretty all over the place hwanhee - LEFT seunghwan - ELIMINATED jay - 10TH the lineup is good, but if im being blunt i would’ve switched yujin with jay and gyuvin with phanbin (or keita but mnet wouldn’t let that happen)

im so happy that my one pick, gunwook made it! when he was in 12th place last elimination i was so worried LMFAO i even made my friend vote who had no clue what was going on. hes an all rounder so im glad hes on the final lineup. im gonna stan the group and support them of course. i like this lineup but am still a little disappointed some of the other trainees didnt make it. so many of them were so talented and ready to debut, i really hope another company/label seeing that potential as well. overall, since theyre going to debut under wakeone (with kep1er) i hope they are treated well and properly between the trainees. lets go zb1!

i might casually listen to their music if its good… maybe watch a couple videos that feature Matthew because i do think he’s adorable but i don’t see myself staning this group. If I’m being honest i feel like the vocals of this group will be very similar to what’s out there already in K-pop. i was hoping for Jay(he was my one pick) i think his vocals are really unique and would’ve brought something different to K-pop. Kind of tired of the global voting… i understand Korea gets 50% in voting because its a K-pop group but i feel like they prioritize visuals over everything. No hate towards Yujin and gyuvin but im still unsure if they’re supposed to be vocalists or rappers? I really hope they stop over sexualizing yujin…..a minor.

I agree. A huge chunk of Knetz prioritizing visuals over most things is just disappointing. The lookism is not improving at all sadly -- the overwhelming hate Keita gets for being shorter than the average guy, Matthew, Jongwoo and Jay for being "ugly"... Even after the top 9 was announced, Keita and Jay not making it being such a relief is still being brought up. On one hand, I'm relieved they didn't make it because imagine how much worse it'd get if they made it to the final lineup.

I honestly like the group. My top pick/bias is ZhangHao ! This team has really good and good vocalists (Taerae, Hao, Hanbin, Gunwook, Matthew, Ricky), They are great dancers, and Gunwook is a great rapper. 5/9 of my top9 made it in and the team looks balanced so I'm satisfied and I'm stanning this group.

I got 5 out of 9 (especially Jiwoong) so I shouldn't complain. But Jongwoo did not make it and I can't help notice the band does not have a rapper. They have members who can rap but no official rapper and that's too bad. I also feel sorry for Keita who ranked high for so long. All in all, it was a great ride. To see someone like Jay (he was number 10) almost making it was hard though. But I rest assured he is too talented not to debut somewhere maybe as a soloist. Thanks for your reactions.

I'm sad my other picks like Seungeon, Keita and Jay (and Haruto but he got Eliminated earlier) didn't make it but tbh I'm not mad at the final lineup. Even when my no 1 pick Hanbin ended up being P02, I'm still fine with it because Hao seriously deserved it as well. Even Hanbin looked genuinely happy when Hao got P01 (I love my center line) I've watched tons of survival shows already from different channels but this one seriously might have one of the best trainees on the show. It's the first time where I can't really pick my top 9 because it keeps changing whenever I watch a new performance lol. That's how good these trainees are and I just hope for all of them to be successful in whatever they do in life.

This is pretty much nearly my perfect team, although Im really sad that Keita (my 1-pick) and Phanbin didnt make it. Keita sadly had negative K-support and Japan rallied for Gunwook. Regardless who would have gotten 1st place it would be historic - Shanbin would have been r1 from 1st voting to last, but instead we got Hao as first foreign 1st place (chinese nonetheless!). However, my picks that didnt make it I just have hopes for they will continue. Keita needs to escape Rains basement, I really hope he can get some opportunities. Seen some ambiguous posts from Ph-1, maybe he would have interest in snagging him? Also Phanbin I would think atrocious if he wont get scouted to some new group from a decent company. Guy is such a gem. I just hope ZB1s music is going to be good and it will be managed better than Kepl1er... High hopes all around!

This survival show was insane. I would have literally been fine with any combination of 9 members within the top 18. Even some top 32 guys I would be fine with if they got in. That just goes to show how much talent we saw in this show. I will be waiting for a lot of them to debut in the coming years because there is just way too much talent to not debut them.

I'll be stanning, but I was rooting very hard for Park Hanbin and Keita to make it, and unfortunately neither of them did. 😭 I think it especially hurt to see the final results and see that Hanbin was 10th and Keita ended up 12th, and in another universe where ZB1 was IZ*ONE-sized, they would've both debuted. 😭 I'm hoping that with Yujin debuting, they don't go straight to sexy-leaning concepts despite that kind of being the other members' vibes. I already don't love when idols have their start in the industry underaged, and I especially don't love it when they're also immediately assigned concepts that are a bit too mature for their age. I'm hoping their debut will be something in the same realm as Kep1er's WA DA DA, or using the Artist Battle songs, something along the lines of En Garde or Supercharger. That one gripe aside, as everyone has also already mentioned, everyone in ZB1 is SO so talented, and I'm very excited to see what their dynamic is going to be like moving forward. I'm excited to finally introduce another group into my active rotation with NCT, lol.

Ricky and gyuvin weren’t in my final lineup but I’m not mad tho they deserve it but i gotta say i was super surprised when they announced ricky ! I definitely didn’t see that coming but again I’m not mad. I’m soooo happy for zhang hao 🥺 he’s the first foreigner to win the first place in a survival show ever !!! Well-deserved. Also, i had mixed feelings because as much as i liked the final lineup i was very heartbroken that keita and park hanbin didn’t make it. Hopefully they get chance in the future to achieve their dream and shine even more i’m gonna wait for them. Jay being 10th place is my 13th reason why 😀😭 I hope I don't get hate for this, this is not hate towards Taerae I'm just stating what I think BUT if it wasn't for msnake revealing the interim rankings that way, showing blatant favoritism towards K trainees, panic voting wouldn't have had happened and Jay would've debuted instead of Taerae and it would of had the same effect since they're both main vocalists. I don't mind Taerae getting in rather than Jay, I just really hate the way mnet manipulates the voting in favor of K trainees. I was wishing for another G trainee, if it wasn't going to be Jay, I would've liked for it to be Keita. I know some of you don't really care about the ratio of K vs G trainees, and you wouldn't be wrong to think it's okay to prioritize Koreans more since it is KPOP after all. But in a show like this where they purposely invite people all around the world to the show, the ratio should be more equal. If this was produce then sure, having them be all Koreans would be fine, but not in boys planet. It's really just appalling how mnet exploits the global voters by promising global trainees to debut to bring more popularity to the group and then debuting only majority Koreans. But honestly my fault, I knew of mnet's history doing this with Girls Planet but I still watched the show. I didn't expect the final lineup ratio to be worse than Girls Planet. Boys Planet final lineup has 7 Koreans and 2 Chinese, while Girls Planet at least had 2 Japanese, 1 Chinese and 6 Koreans. I really wished for more variety but at least the voting this time around is better. They didn't really promise diversity and instead made it a K vs G unlike in Girls Planet where they made you vote an equal number of Chinese, Koreans, and Japanese only for the final interim ranking to be 8 Koreans and 1 Chinese member. In the end, I love all 18 trainees that made it to the finale so even if the final lineup ratio is whack, I still love everyone that made it and I will support the group till their contract ends. I'm deciding between Gunwook and Gyuvin for a bias, I love them both. I hope their concepts and songs are a banger and they won't mismanage them like they did with Kep1er!

Though I am kind of surprised Keita got knocked out of the Top 9 even though he's consistently been in it. But Zhanghao ranking #1 was definitely the biggest twist of the night, he made history for being the first non korean center on an Mnet survival show, and he 100% deserves it. I may be wrong but it almost seems like Hanbin was relived he wasn't #1, I think he's been immensely pressured by that spot. Anyways I can't wait to see what type of music and concept this group will come out with but I'm sure it will be amazing.

And people complained about the group name, yes they could've chosen a better name, but at the end of the day, it's just a name. Another thing I've seen some people try to make an argument out of: The 9 year age gap between the oldest and youngest....come on really? This is not out of the ordinary for Kpop groups, especially ones coming off of survival shows. The members of those worked out fine together and it's really nothing different from a sibling relationship. Honestly as a Zhang Hao one pick and Hao/S Hanbin/Matthew 3 pick... I think I really won this time lol. My mindset going into the ranking was pretty much that I just wanted at least Hao, Hanbin, and Matthew in the group and I would be happy with anything else. Now looking at the lineup I am overall very happy with it and will be stanning! There are so many members with close friendships in the group (Zhang Hao/Hanbin, Hanbin/Matthew, Matthew/Jiwoong, Gyuvin/Yujin, Gyuwin/Gunwook, etc) so I am very excited to see what their bond and variety content will be like! I'm sad for a few other trainees but think I was pretty prepared to not see people like Keita, Jungwoo, and P Hanbin in the lineup already so it wasn't a big shock. I understand that many people who had their pick eliminated are probably upset but I hope those people don't spread hate to the group who debuted.. This is the first group I'll stan since the beginning, I'm so excited!! Well, talking about their positions in the group, I think they could be like Enhypen, you know? Without a fix position, since, apart Tae Rae, the members are not promoted as main vocal or main rap, like, I feel that Jiwoong and GunWook could be in the rap unit, but GunWook has a beautiful singing voice too, he is an all around for sure and I honestly think Hanbin and Zhang Hao can give a great support singing, their voices are beautiful, both so stable. The only person I don't know if can better sing or rap for now is Gyu Vin, he is probably gonna be a lead dancer, but who knows, we will wait until their debut, I'm looking forward to it!

you mentioned how lee jeonghyeon came out of nowhere ! it’s kind of true, until episode 8 he was the korean trainee with the least amount of screen time and i think finally mnet started showing him because they saw how popular he was getting in korea ! he was actual the second trainee hui picked to be on his love me right team (after sung hanbin) in the first mission so that shows how talented he really is despite mnet hiding him and editing his audition out

My top 3 were the top 3 (in that order)! When I watched live, I was so sure that Yujin would be top 3 or 2 and I was quakin in my boots for Matthew. I'm very sad for Keita (he dropped so far 😢) but otherwise very pleased with the lineup. Also, would recommend looking up Gyuvin fancams of his reactions to the announcements because this man is so funny I can't wait for the variety content from this group.

My main pick was Zihao but I was really rooting for Park hanbin, keita and zhang hao. So I was really sad when keita and phanbin didn't make it. I first thought I wouldn't even be interested in following the group, but I was wrong lol. Their friendship and personalities made me stay. I am excited for their future.

zhanghao was my one pick throughout the whole show so i could not be happier with not just him debuting but debuting first as center <3333 was genuinely so so shocked when his name was announced witnessing not only the first ever non korean center from these shows, but specifically a chinese center after what happened to xiaoting back in girls planet and all the sinophobia that comes with these shows just felt so triumphant. defintely stanning zb1 as well - i love everyone in the lineup but as always with these shows, there are trainees who im so sad won't be debuting. my top three throughout the show was zhanghao, sung hanbin and keita and i felt like throwing up a little when i realized that keita didnt make it (along with park hanbin and junhyeon) but from what i've seen, a lot of the mentors have shown interests in actually supporting the rest of that top 18 so i'm really hoping we get to see them succeed in the future - all of these boys are incredibly talented and im so so proud of all of them

also, this is kind of a bummer to write about but with how historic zhanghao getting first was, he has been getting met with a lot of horrible, bigoted hate since the finale. not only is it xenophobia and sinophobia, but recently a thread on twitter has been going around that essentially outs him. you've mentioned it before but despite all its problems, the show has done surprisingly well at allowing these trainees to exress themselves and their identies without antagonizing those characteristics and i hope its a positive sign for how the lgbt community will be treated in media the future, but of course making progress is going to be very hard. i dont know what the general korean response to that thread is, but i do ask that if anyone sees that thread or any articles or posts discussing it that they dont interact with it and report it - no one deserves to go through this and i sincerely hope that yuehua and wakeone take serious steps towards protecting and supporting him.

Anyone of those 18 guys deserved it so Im not exactly mad at the line-up but man am I pissed about Jay! I just know they started to do him dirty during the artist battle episode. My boy was killing it vocally from that point on and they started editing VERY crucial character and performance parts from him. I just know if they didn't show that mid week ranking he would have made it. No saying Tae Rae isn't capable, but Jay's vocal dont come around often and he was very needed in the group. This group was straight dance and vocal line so I really dont like that there isnt a variety in terms of the whole package here. I'll still support them but because like I said anyone in the top 18 deserved to debut.

My one pick is Sung Hanbin so I’m really happy he made it and a bit bittersweet about him not keeping his streak and debuting as the no. 1 trainee but just happy he is debuting! yeah...fifth gen is definitely going to be made up of survival shows. our first fifth gen girl group (baby monster) are doing their final evaluations right now which is basically yg's form of a survival show (think yg treasure box). baemon's evaluations were filmed a whole year ago but their debut date hasn't been announced yet so it's possible they're going to be 5th gen

I finally found it in me to rewatch this with you, and while I was DEVESTATED while watching - after having a good think about it I'm actually really, really happy that Jongwoo, Keita and Jay didn't debut in this lineup. The hate they all received before the final and the toxicity of the current fandom is the most disgusting display of "fan activity" I have ever had the displeasure of seeing, and I honestly fear the backlash each of them would have gotten (especially Jay and Jongwoo). As a Jongwoo 1-pick, watching fans tear down his character based on mistranslations and purposeful spreading of misinformation and seeing how people on bptwt STILL tear him down now, even if he did not make it, is actually breaking my heart, and I'm so happy he seems to have good people around him. The treatment he recieved towards the end was inexcusable, and I'm just so happy to see him continue to work on his craft and hone his talents while hanging out with people who care for him. I will not be following the group - the last few weeks on bptwt ruined the fandom and (unfortunately) some of the debuting trainees for me (even though I know I shouldn't let the fans ruin the idols - I just can't help it), but I will be following and anticipating the future projects of Jongwoo, Keita, Jay and Phanbin 💕

Personally I won't be stanning actively I don't think. I'm super happy for Jiwoong, Ricky, and Gunwook, but the gut-wrenching slam of emotions from Jay and Keita not making it is a bit hard to move on from. Even if I support them and love that they were able to debut (they do all deserve it, no hate to any of them! :D) but I just can't watch their stuff and not think to myself what could have been. Either way, I'll listen to their music and I hope they succeed despite the rampant hating from bptwt (like guys, get a life, hating takes up too much time and energy and isn't useful in the slightest). I hope Keita and Jay get picked up at a good agency and put in groups. I think this show showed everyone that they have more than enough talent to go super far in the industry regardless of how much k-support they have, and companies would be foolish not to grab them after the high concentration of global support they received. If someone wants their group to have global stans, they would be dumb not to grab one of these guys. To those who stan ZB1, I wish you the best! Show them lots of love!

i dropped the show because the editing + fandom was too much, and as a hui one pick (and pentagon fan) i definitely won't be stanning lol i knew he wouldn't make the group from the beginning but seeing how horribly boys planet fans treated him only to switch up and ask him to make their debut song turns me off completely. i'll probably support gunwook from the sidelines, and maybe zhang hao who wasn't one of my picks but i feel like should be defended from all the hate he's getting for debuting as a chinese center.

Just finished watching this, the boy groups coming out of mnet survival shows have really been exceptional, Wannaone broke records left and right and for a group who promoted less than 2yrs they were the IT group at that time, many stated that if they were not a temporary group they would have been one of the top Boy groups of all time, even now they still have records that are not broken even by longer running groups. X1 definitely made waves but unfortunately the incident happened, it wasn’t their fault but that controversy was so huge that it really became a huge factor. For boys planet, wasn’t really into this show because of the controversy but seeing the line up, this might a be a really good line up. If I Stan them, I’d probably ULT Taerae and Zhang Hao, Matthew hanbin yujin are close. For me personally I would have love to see Keita and SeungEon on the lineup instead of Jiwoong and Gun wook. One more vocal and a great rapper. But hey they all deserve it, I’m thinking what if they pull a produce 101 season 2 where they debuted eliminated trainees, the other 9 finalist are beasts too, imagine SeunGEon Hui Jay vocalist, HanBin, JunHyeon, Jong woo dancer Keita Kamden jong hyeon, rapper,

Re-watching BP after learning to know about Zerobaseone 3 days before their debut and becoming instantly hooked. If i had been watching back then I would have chosen Gyuvin, Gunwook and Matthew as my 3 picks and then Gyuvin as my 1-pick I think. All in all I'm glad zb1 are who they are and that all were close in the show and/or pre-debut because it shows how much they already LOVE eachother honestly.

Rewatching this over a year later and it is still so good. I am a dyed in the wool JiWoong ult especially knowing his story of his previous debut attempts and the mistreatment he and his previous members suffered. I can't believe how many great groups and soloists have come out of this collection of trainees. I ult ZB1 but OnePact (JongWoo, Jay, Oh Seungmin, YeDam and Tag) are also a great favourite of mine. I also love Ampers&One with Kamden, Brian, and Ji Ho. And of course Evnne is basically the subgroup of super talent that came from this with Keita, Park Hanbin, Lee Seungeon, Lee Jeonghyeon, Mun Junghyun, Ji Yunseo and Park Jihoo. We also have TOZ, and TIOT, and NXD and great solo debuts from Le'V (Wang ZiHao), OnLee (Lee Seungkwan), and more.
