Sorry this was late guys! Had a busy week with an audition last Monday and the Aespa comeback among other uploads.

Just also wanna say that this is definitely one of the best survival shows I've watched. So much fun to watch and the talent is TOP NOTCH!

You are right about your comments with Lip J and rozalin i felt like she didn't do her best. I was so fascinated by Lip J that I watched some of her international battles and i think you would love it too!! This Show made me realize one thing again, doesn't matter the style I ALWAYS prefer Raw/emotional performances over technically more clean ones (as long as it's not messy!)

when it comes to lipj and rozalin, it was easily a win for lipj imo. rozalin is obviously good but her twirls had little control and it was very obvious that she hasn't done waacking in a while. variety and creativity are important for battles but her basics are distractingly leagues below lipj, in an actual waacking competition she'd struggle a lot tbh

I love watching your reaction so much. It’s like I get a new insight while watching with you. It’s nice that you dedicatedly reacts to Street Woman Fighter (other people ran to Girls Planet 999, meh). You’re right, Noze’s “Hey Mama” choreo became viral in Korea, idols and people cover it. Btw, at first there is no prize except for the trophy lmao. But after the show got so big in Korea, K-netizen criticized Mnet for not giving any cash prize. Then a prize of 50 million won (~$45,000) was added. Mnet probably doesn’t even expect that this show will be doing so well. You know which time slot they put SWF in? Freaking 10pm Tuesday night, it’s the worst for variety show. They save the gold time (8pm Friday night) for Girls Planet 999. Guess what, GP999 flopped so hard, nobody tunes in, only the international fan cares. On the other hand, SWF hit big after the pilot, the ratings keep going up and Korean loves this show. I’m happy that the show got viral and the dancers now get promotional things to do, advertisement and sponsorship. Yay yay yay

Yeah, a waacker (on Youtube or Reddit or somewhere I dont remember) said that it is so clear Rozalin havent practiced waacking for years, her technique is off. Since the judges have little experience in waacking, they might not see it.

I'm surprised by Rian doing bone breaking. I haven't actually seen a female dancer do it and it's not such a natural extension to voguing and waacking that she does usually. So that was kinda cool as a mix. Totally agree with you on Noze tho. Nice popping but she kept using the same tempo in the hits so...it wasn't so interesting. I actually preferred Rozalin over Lip J in that round tho, since Rozalin danced more...and Lip J spent a bit too much time doing the intense staring and slow moves despite the energetic music...The rematch round was even imo That was locking that they showed when they talked about Taeyong liking waacking tho? no? Was fun to watch Rihey and Honey J, and I really liked they both showed some tricks, variation in tempo and also nice musicality, hitting the small little sound effects from to time. Preferred Rihey the 2nd round though and yeah it was so amazing the same moves came out at the same time. They spent so much time together in the past, the shared muscle memory and grooves/style doesn't disappear, bad blood or not... I feel like Lee Jung from YGX is really not a battler, and is kinda just kinda....spending a lot of the 40s doing those footwork and bouncing periods that you mentioned. You can tell she was using so much time thinking of ideas. Bicki was clearly more experienced and she had a lot of variation and musicality throughout (minus that trip). For me it was hands down Bicki. For Yell/Yeri. I think her real name is Yeri, and her stage name is Yell, hence the subs saying Yell but them calling her Yeri. It's similar anyway. I liked Noze's choreo the most out of all the leader choreos tho, even if she didn't choreo it long enough. Hers seemed to match the music the best and Honey J's had a similar level of energy so maybe that's why both of those had the most votes. Simeez's choreo is very her, and super sharp and fierce on it. The others were kinda soft. And for Chaeyeon was still kinda a bit pretty and girly for the dance for me.. Was a pity for the leaders group with Aiki and Monika. Tho I agree with you Monika looks a lot more stiff on this style...Was hard to choose for the leaders tho, I think any of the last 4 would have been great but my personal preference would be Honey J.

Mostly agree with you. The Taeyong part, he said he like locking, not waacking (the Korean caption is “locking” too), thus they showed locking. The English translation is wrong, again.

Random thought: I was wondering what if HYOYEON joined this show, I'm sure she would slay this also! Because tbh if I could pick one female idol that I know would excel on this, it's her! The fact also that she had already worked with most of contestants here and been friends with some of them too. Small world indeed. HAHAHA Omg this episode was intense!! btw, that Noze choreo became a viral hit in Korea. A lot of people are doing covers of it and it also increased Noze's brand reputation index! Deserveee! 🔥

After this episode aired in Korea, Noze's choreo went viral like crazy! The song charted in Melon again and everyone was doing dance covers of it. I also love how all the dancers on the show are getting so much love now. They gained so much followers on IG and are doing a lot of brand deals. I think it's safe to say this has been one of Mnet's most successful competition shows in a long time.

In fact, Rihey and Honey J DID become close again. They started to follow each other on socials once again & I believe the other members of Cocoa and Butter did as well. Their battle was hella cool and like what the other dancers said, you really cannot betray the amount of time spent together.

lol i’m not really active on tiktok. i upload some vids but don’t stay on it. on twitter i only follow official accounts plus select fan accounts. it’s more to save any spoilers really. cause my job is to do a first reaction so i’m cautious as to what i see on my feed. like for this instance, if i had been aware of her choreo i would’ve not reacted this way which isn’t as fun for u guys 😂

ya my first instinct was to go with gp999 because of the group that was gonna come out of it. i didn’t wanna miss what could be an iz*one success etc. but i watched some vids and i just didn’t enjoy what i did watch. i’m so glad this show is getting recognition cause the talent here is intense!

I don't know if you remember Choi Hyo Jin - WANT's leader but she was Hoya's dance partner back in Hit the Stage :)) I actually did not want to watch this show because all of the dramas, but your commentary makes it so fun to watch. I really enjoy watching with you! Great work!

its crazy how u didn't know noze's famous dance. it went viral on tiktok, twitter, korea and other idols danced it too like seventeen's seungkwan, stray kids hyunjin, etc. i started watching this show because of ygx and noze.

Re the Cash prize, at first there wasn't any (just the trophy) but when the show got popular, they added one. "The winning crew will be given 50 million KRW (~$42,754 USD) along with the trophy."

You were wondering once, about how the show’s crew knew about the Rihey/Honey J feud. Found out through one of the interviews that it's Gabee who spilled the beans over the beef between Rihey/Honey J lmao. I'm kind of glad she did because honestly, if it weren't for this show, Rihey and Honey J wouldn't have been able to mend their relationship (along with the members of CNB too bc they were all part of Purplow together). I hope you end up watching the leaders on Knowing Bros because they kind of go a bit more into that. Also, after watching some clips of Purplow as a team, I firmly believe if they were still a group, they would have won the show. They would’ve been unstoppable as a team.
