[Important Notice] Membership Pricing & Content Update (Patreon)

There will be important changes happening starting July 1st. Here are the details as to why:

Basically, Vimeo (where I host my videos) has reached out to me 3 months ago saying that my account is taking way more bandwidth consumption than they allow for the plan that I was in. Bandwidth in video hosting is the amount of data your website can transfer to your users in a given amount of time.

In order for me to continue on with the uploads, I was told I needed to upgrade to their Enterprise Plan, otherwise I could not continue my account as excessive bandwidth consumption was a breach of contract for that particular plan. I took Zoom meetings with Vimeo in order to come to an agreement for the cost of the plan that they have for me. Because my videos are being viewed in large amounts and after negotiating, my Enterprise Plan came down to approximately $10,000/year.

No exaggeration.

I can provide you the invoice if you’re needing proof haha. This is currently the highest price for a react channel. Even though Form Of Therapy has more patrons, they are only being charged $5000-$6000 as per their posts. I don’t know why mine costs more.

My current plan gives me 176,000gb of bandwidth for a two-year timeframe. That is 88,000gb per year. Now, it’s only been 3 months and I’m already at 35,000gb. That’s nearing halfway and I just started the plan. This is one of the reasons why I don’t upload more at a time and react to all the popular suggestions. I have looked at other hosting options but there is no guarantee that they wouldn’t block my content for copyright.

In short, it’s either I increase the membership pricing or stop uploading for several weeks to a couple of months to manage bandwidth consumption.

I really appreciate the support and the interest in my videos but the more content there is to react to and the more videos I upload, the more it will cost to run this account. All my videos are under 5gb size so the data transferred over aren’t as big but alas, we’re still in this situation.

SO, here are the changes:

• All content from the $1 tier will be transferred over to the $5 tier except Immortal Songs which will be put in the $3 tier.
• All completed and future Kdramas, concerts/documentaries, award season videos will all be transferred to the $5 tier. She Would Never Know will stay in $3 tier until it is completed and then will be transferred over as well the following month (August).
• Variety shows and Reality shows (not survival shows-related) will stay in the $3 tier as well as behind recordings, select live stages and vlogs. For now.
• Content tier transfers will start happening on July 1st CST.

The transfer of content will allow me to pay for the overage of bandwidth that I am anticipating as the months go on and I add more popular content. As much as possible I don’t want to go above $5/month for content but it has become costly to run the business side of content creation. With that said, I cannot promise that further future pricing increase won’t happen but I will hold as long as I can.

I apologize to those who will be affected by the content transfer and are unable to upgrade tiers. I have always championed to provide the least expensive membership pricing as possible for you guys but it has come to a point where there are external entities that prevent me from doing so.

I appreciate your support and understanding. I know that a lot of you appreciate the content I upload and I would hate to halt uploads because of technical things like bandwidth.
