Had an extra day to film this weekend because there was no True Beauty so I checked out these episodes of NCT Daily. Enjoy! :)

Jeff , when WayV have a comeback they ( covid allowing ) will have full promotion in China , they have been on Korean chart shows but only a few times as a showcase , their songs will be on similar shows in China and aiming for Chinese chart success , this year they have not been able to go to China but have still been on Chinese shows remotely :) also found out from them that a 3rd reality show is coming , Winter sports related , but WayV are Cpop not Kpop , thank you for you reviews of these , really enjoyed them :)

in the resonance stage at the points where you point out it looks messy (after the v formation) they made 2 formation as a group the first (1) was an infinity sign and second was the letters NCT, but you can't see it from a front view so i can see how it could look messy :( i think it was made with show cameras in mind where the cameras could capture it 'cause you can only see it from above (since there's no live audience anyways)

Lucas is so sweet ❤ He's always trying to make Shotaro say something and making him comfortable. I remember those days when Lucas, Jungwoo and Kun were new in NCT2018 project. Love the interactions here ☺️ If you would notice, Mark, Taeyong, Ten and Lucas have the same outfit (and hair color) in some of the scenes here and in their SuperM behind the scenes. It seems that they practiced for this comeback the same time with their SuperM promotions. Wow the dedication and hardwork 👏🏻❤

Yeah, China have different kind of system for their idols promotion, they actually have more variety shows than music shows for promotions compare to Korea. I'm just glad that SM let WayV to promote in Korean music shows while they're still in Korea and can't go to China because of the pandemic. Hoping for more active promotions from them when our situation gets better ☺️💚

I'm not that familiar with the Chinese market... but sadly, I don't think WayV could ever win any awards on Korea music show... it took the industry a very long time to accept foreigner in kpop/media... in fact the very first Chinese kpop memeber was in Super Junior...and even then he, Han Geng, had to wear a mask on stage bc Korea wouldn't let most broadcast company allow foreigners on air during that time. So in my opinion, an all foreigner group, WayV, was able to perform because they had the backing of SM. If they were from a smaller company, it would have been close to impossible to perform on Korea music show. ... I LOVE that WayV is NCT. But im ready for LabelV WayV.

I mean the thing is china doesn't have it's own music shows? so if they want to promote like that they do Korean music shows and are eligible for wins with their Korean versions and English versions. It's hard because SM has no foothold in the mainland chinese market, which relies a lot on being invited to things to do promotions. If their company has no influence they can't go anywhere, so WayV's growth in mainland will always be slow. So, I'm glad they've embraced being more Asian pop, especially since there are places outside of mainland china that speak mandarin and enjoy mandopop!

I have a feeling Nectar might get an English version in WayV's next album... idk it just has Love Talk energy

For the Make A Wish dance practice, TY was wearing jeans and boots and the dance practice where they were in the studio usually used for dance practices, they weren’t actually filming for it then since their outfits and hair colour wasn’t matching. I think these behind the scenes were shot way before they shot those dance practices (you could see the hesitation of them saying NCT 2020 or NCT Resonance since the need wasn’t even released yet). So it’s great cause then we see the actual progress and some of the dance moves for 90s Love were changed a lot and even the formations in MAW were changed. In fact, I have a feeling they shoot those like before the day of the release of the MV maybe or even the day of Im not sure but somewhere along those lines haha

Mark really wears glasses with grade so does Jaehyun, Jeno used to have glasses but he did lasik surgery last year

Kaszy Notte

Oh yeah! What you should know is that most of the Neos are blind asf 🤣🤣🤣 So when you see them wear glasses in these dance practices, they’re prescription glasses. There are a lot of memes of the Neos not being able to see, it’s hilarious.

K

Both dance practice rooms are new, the bigger one has a glass part where people who visit the Coex can actually see who is practicing, if they don't put the blinds down. EXO usually practice there and some fans were able to took pics of them with LSM hahaha of course before the pandemic

I think sm definitely rushed resonance mainly just so they could be able to perform all title tracks at mama and other year end awards I really think if this wasn’t so last minute we could’ve gotten something even cooler than bob :(

K

About Nectar, i don't think its a comeback material, as a kpop fan for long now, don't get me wrong, its an amazing song but usually its not something that tops or would be raved, atleast in S. Korea. That is why its nice to check b-sides especially with SM, they are great at picking songs to put in an album.

Seeing you React to this I kept thinking how much you would Love Why not: The Dancer. It's a Show about Idols making Choreo with Eunhyuk from Super Junior, Gikwang from Highlight, Taemin & Jisung. Maybe we find Time to watch it if Kingdom doesn't start immediately after we finish The Unit but I honestly doubt it 😅

Ten learning these 2 dances along with nct variety and promotions, superm choreographies (which he did on the same day as 90s love first day according to his outfit), 3 superm comebacks with variety shows and promotions, 2 wayv mvs with variety show and promotions, his solo parts in the award shows, beyond live concerts with nectar and relearning 7th sense and baby don't stop, sm town concert... i need to know how this man stays awake and is still alive after all that. He needs to be appreciated more, but i'm so happy he has so much to do after being in the sm dungeon for so long.

Sheryl Lenia

Ten is really so hardworking and it's funny that one of his wishes for this year is to be even busier

Anonymous

the final line up is an infinite sign seen from above! (at least in the last seconds of resonance) but it's pretty impossible to understand it unless there's a camera above them so yeah, could have thought about it more in depth.

carlakoala

Also, the woman choreographer in 90s Love is Bada Lee (instagram badalee__). She's the same person who choreographed and danced with Ten on his instagram post and choregraphed the Shownu + Ten collab on MBC (RyuD doing Ten's solo though). She's awesome and her and Ten seem to like working with each other. I'm pretty sure she co-choreographed and danced with Kai in his Mmmhh solo, also choreographing Deja Vu with the dreamies. Hope she gets to work with all of them more because her moves are so cool and unique.

sierra's reaction corner

The only issues I have with them recording the more serious dance practices and rehearsals is that, it's just more and more time that they're being recorded and their privacy is being interrupted. Considering how much time they already spend underneath a camera, i feel like they deserve for most of the time they spend rehearsing and practicing to be without a fan audience. Plus, I don't know if a lot of people realize this, but when a camera is on them, like 80% of the time, they're putting on their "idol persona" for the cameras. Sure, a lot of them may be acting as natural as possible, but there's a lot of stuff they wouldn't be doing if it wasn't for the cameras. For example, them acting so silly at time. Obviously, they're fun guys and would have fun at practices, but some things are obviously because they see the camera and go "oh i need to be entertaining, they're watching", It's not a bad thing at all, it's just something I think about a lot when I see increasingly private times of theirs being recorded.

I think Resonance being messy at the end of MAMA performance was a mix of both options you presented. Recently the choreographer gave an interview to a friend youtuber about how thinking about the positions was the hardest part as it was a mix of songs and had 23 members, he spent some days thinking about the positions. He also mentions that they had a really short period of time to choreograph and then to practice, so it is possible that the positions weren't the best options. Although the positions were thought I also think that it didn't work well at the performance because Resonance was performed in other award shows after MAMA and the end was changed a bit: for example, in the MV and MAMA you can see that when Make a Wish comes for a second time, just the MAW team lay down on the ground in Xiaojun part, and the others members get off the stage and when the 23 members part comes, they go running to the stage to get their positions. But in another performance after that, all the members lay down in the floor and after getting up, they all form a line then the camera shows one per time while the others who were already shown can go to their positions more calmly (an extra part in the remix song was added here). They still get in 2/3 line formation for Jaehyun part but you can see how adjustments were necessary. I think you would love to see (maybe react) what one of the the choreographers of Resonance talked about the whole process. He mentions that they had a really short time to everything and presents a lot of difficulties in the process. He also talks about who are the fast learners and best dancers as he have been working with them for five years (RyuD is also the one who choreographed Ten solo in his collaboration stage with Monsta X Shownu). Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pIFqzPdwrk&feature=youtu.be

About the female choreographer, her name is Bada Lee. She has been working with them for a while (also with other SM artists as Kai). For 90s love, she worked with 3 other choreographers. She is also credited for Nectar choreography for WayV as well as Deja Vu for NCT Dream. Also, you asked in the Shownu x Ten collaboration video who choreographed the part which they both dance: it was also her with Ten and Shownu inputs in the process. Apparently, she is also friends with Ten because they have made a choreography together for Blessed by Shenseea without any apparent work purpose.

yaaayy i love when you react to nct's extra dance and/or practice stuff ^^ i heard that ten and mark had a practice for superm the same day then went to 90s love after or later on in the day when jaemin and jungwoo were talking about AB they were talking about blood type haha apparently each blood type has a certain personality so they're the AB brothers along with haechan because AB is supposedly aloof or like out there sort of personality, like you don't know whats going through their minds kind of people XDD

h.

hey you should definitely react to their mv behind the scenes !

Anonymous

Thank you so much for this info!! I know this was for Jeff, but I'm so glad I saw it because I love those kinds of videos where you get to hear the process and the point of view from someone on the outside of things and after reading your comment I went straight there and watch it. It was really cool and interesting to hear what everything is like behind the scenes and from his point of view. Thanks again 💚

You can tell the timeline by the color of their hair LOL

OMG Jeff, NCT just released their From Home behind the scenes!! I hope you still got some time to react on this 🙏🏻💚 https://youtu.be/SVk6OqIuxZE

Anonymous

Jeff can you react to the From Home behind Scenes they just released it !!☺️💖

Andrea Romero

You should react to Some Astro Ddoca or Astro Play too🥺🥺✨💜

Anonymous

actually for uncut videos they're usually taken waaayy before the comeback, i think this was around mid 2020 when SuperM was also preparing for comeback.

Anonymous

Hi Jeff!!! I really hope you also react to the from home uncut video released yesterday, the vocals are just unreal and its so cool seeing the perfectionist coming out of all the vocal members :)

Allina Khan

Hey Jeff. I just wanted to say I think these were filmed a while ago. It seems like SuperM was preparing for 100 at the time :) You can kinda tell by the hair lol

Louie Gabiliño

That was crazy. Even the producer(?) is that how we call her? Already tells them that they sound good but they’re still not satisfied. 🙇🏻‍♀️

Reem OA

a lot of people are saying that bada lee is the choreographer for maw and 90's love but I have seen somewhere else people saying that it is Reina Kaneko she is a 19 year old female hip hop dancer but bada lee and the other male choreographer are just there to teach NCT the dance but they didn't make the choreography.

Anonymous

The moment lucas and jungwoo debuted they're already crazy. Lucas' very loud and jungwoos a flirt from the very beginning 😂. Kun, well kun was kun but he was reserved during the Without You era

Anonymous

You might want to check out Seventeen's Inside Seventeen videos of their MAMA and The Fact Music Awards behind dance practices ^^

I agree with your opinion about resonance choreography. It looks a little messy. But, I think it's messy because it was rushed. In vlive or radio I think, NCT Dream said that they only have 9 hours to practice Deja Vu. So, I think it is the same case with resonance. #sorryformybadenglish

Anonymous

shotaro's secret is sm's water. that's it.

Anonymous

Very true... They have assigned show cams so the formations were always varied and windowed... It's not messy for there were sections for unit songs that's why the formation is always flexible for every music / award shows
