yes, 고맙다 is pronounced like that! hehe the b/p sound is a little softer though (something like go-map-da) >< the other way they used was 고마워요 (pronounced as go-ma-wo-yo). both mean the same (thank you, I'm thankful), but 고맙다 (gomapda) is more informal, usually you use that amongst friends the same age as you. 고마워요 (gomawoyo) is a polite way of saying thank you, it's not the most formal way of saying it but it's still polite when talking to someone older or someone you're not close friends with (co-workers, for example). btw loved the reaction as always ♡

The bg sound you thought was a fountain are cicadas. They might not be common in Canada or maybe they only come out on certain years, but there's a lot of species in East Asia and you can hear them every day in the summer months. It's super loud and annoying as if you have a permanent tinnitus.

Your reaction to the random colleague telling Woo Young everything was hilarious, because it mirrored mine exactly. There's no reason for him to know Kyung Seok's business! Why was it there? But that misstep aside, I LOVE this episode and I love you for reminding me why. Eunwoo finally gets to cut into DKS' more vulnerable side, and it's really nice (and painful) to see.

when i was watching, my jaw dropped when the father admitted that he hit her. like, the fact that she only talks about it as "an accident" that happened and she didn't tell kyung seok straight up what he did to her but the father assuming that she did it to talk shit about him... because that's what he does! he told their children that she cheated and left with another man when he knew she didn't! and i love how they're slowly revealing the truth, after giving us crumbs that kyung seok remembers from his childhood that are out of context that he wouldn't have understood either, such great writing! can't wait for your reactions to the rest of the storylines tbh, they're just as well done in my opinion

You can't help yourself but binged-watch it. I have binged-watch it more than 10 times. There is a reason why this drama became gateway or entry point of lot of Arohas, including myself. It was certainly not Eunwoo's face, this drama spoke to me personally & Eunwoo spoke to me through this character. Anyway, this couple is the most socially awkward. They are so different yet deep inside both feel awkward with ppl in some or the other way. Another thing that was highlighted in this drama was Do Kyung seok & Kang mi rae family. Kang mi rae was blessed with a happy family, great & supporting parents but she craved Beauty coz she was bullied, where as Do Kyung seok had face & money but the most important thing was missing from his life, happiness, a great family, someone to rely on. We saw how angry he was at his mom for abandoning him & his father kind of made him believe that his mom left for another man. He was angry but still all this time, he was there for his sister, encouraging her like how his mother used to do. Not letting her see her mom spraying perfume like crazy, telling her not yo take pressure but he was a child too who never had someone to encourage him, console him after his mom left. Also, I don't think someone should ask a woman to choose between career & family. Do Kyung seok father is MCP. Also, I agree that scene where he was angry & with teary eyes, that was amazing & Kang mi rae with her family, laughing & singing was do great. You can see the contrast between his & her life so clearly. The show from 8th episode will become lot more funny. Eunwoo will be unintentionally funny. Yes, this drama is based on a webtoon & Eunwoo's character there is shown as cold & a person who doesn't show much emotions. Talking about emotions, I think what his father said to him in childhood that a man doesn't show emotions may also be reason why he mostly gives cold vibe especially after his mom left, his father would have been a terror. Please no. The main female lead of Itaewon class is horrible. She was racist, borderline transphobic, and a horrible person to everyone around her. She used people for her benefit.
