**THEME**: Recommend me any war or war-related films!

All movies will be placed in a random selector and the first 10 selected will be put on the poll for next week (so all suggestions have an equal chance of getting in!).

You can check my Letterboxd (username: BrandonLikes) to see if I've seen it before if you're unsure.

Three Kings. It's George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Ice Cube. Fantastic movie

Oof, the subject matter makes it a tough watch but it has so many interesting stylistic directing choices (plus the fact it’s Belarusian, and god knows they went through hell during WWII). I’ll add my recommendation though, too!

I’ll second all the 1917 and ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT (2022) recommendations, and also add the brilliant 1989 film GLORY if you haven’t seen it yet (couldn’t find it on your letterboxd list but I might have missed it!)

Or just remove or edit the post?

The Bridge on the River Kwai. You'll need a Texas shaped steak and a good scotch to watch this movie.

come and see! 1985 ! best anti-war film ever

Jeff I.

Come and See! I've never seen another war movie like it. It's a hard watch, but it's brilliantly made and features some amazing acting from the lead (who was only 14 years old!).
