Last Night in Soho Full Length Reaction

Matt

Might be my favorite of his films, looking forward to watching it again

Lewish

Oh bloody brilliant! Been wanting to give this a rewatch!

Dante

Great film! ALSO AMC announced Better Call Saul Season 6's premiere date today and it's Monday, April 18th and it's a double feature!

I really enjoyed so much of this film. I think the production value is insane, the cinematography, the lighting, and the performances from the leads are all top notch. I think Edgar Wright is a better director than he is a writer. I think he should team up with a great writer because he is a great director. I found the script to be the weakest part of the film which is unfortunate. Same as you, overall I enjoyed it but something about the last 25 minutes didn't totally land for me.

The movie is well acted and beautifully shot, but is a real mediocre story and unfortunately not really worth the watch, Nightmare Alley is the same way, except I kind of hated Nightmare Alley by the end.

It really was, it's freaking Guillermo del Toro, and I have loved all of his movies, it just feels like it is based on a short story written by a precocious middle schooler who just figured out that there used to be freak shows. I'll probably rewatch it when Brandon does his reaction, because it is has its moments and maybe he will have some insight or placating words after it. Beautifully shot and acted though, the story is just VERY weak. If you think you know where it is headed about 20 minutes in, you are right.

Yeah, Guillermo can be one of the greats. Pan's Labyrinth is one of my fall time favourites/ I can even get down with the dumb fun of Pacific Rim (mostly ironically) but I found his film Crimson Peak to be pretty middling. They can't all be great I guess

Nicholas Hentges

Crimson Peak was better the second time around, now it is one of my favorites of his (not saying much because they are basically all my favorites lol)

There’s a fantastic movie with Thomasin Mackenzie and Ben Foster called “Leave No Trace”. I rarely get emotional in movies but that one absolutely moved me close to tears. It was my first introduction to her. She did a great job. I don’t know if it’s worth doing a reaction to because I doubt a lot of people have seen it but I promise you it’s worth watching. I know you’d like it.
