I was right there with you, Brandon. I’ve had my own struggles with mental health (and my name is Ben!) and watching this with you ruined me. I really struggled with his character when I first watched the show and rewatching (with you) I’ve realised it’s because so much of his mood swings and how they are met with anger, even by the people who love and know him best, rang a little too true for me. Bravo to all involved, especially Laura Linney in that final scene. Very tasteful way of closing the episode and far more powerful and resonant than going for a shock instead.
