Better Call Saul S2E10 (Klick) Full Length Reaction

*Also, fun fact: Michael McKean (Chuck) used to be a cast member on SNL! Bob Odenkirk also used to be a writer on SNL as well

Jeff Milcheck

And let’s not forget Michael McKean was the great David St Hubbens (The Patron Saint of quality footware) from Spinal Tap!!! Would love to see a reaction to that someday..

Anthony Lucido

That opening scene is so heartbreaking

You should really acknowledge Peter Gould. Peter is the showrunner of BCS, not Vince. Vince isn't apart of the show throughout the duration and it frankly gets better despite his absence. However, he did come back to help write the final season (which is exciting). I know we love Vince for creating this universe but BCS is wholeheartedly Peter's show. As always great work!

Jeff Milcheck

I wouldn’t say Vince isn’t involved.. As a co-creator Im sure he’s still involved at a high level... but yeah, Peter Gould definitely deserves some props for being the show runner!

Carlos Hurtado

Man, this show is so great at making characters who make sense. There are no main characters who are bad just cause they're bad. They all have logical storylines that lead them to being the way they are. while i think chuck is an asshole, his reasons for wanting jimmy to fail are pretty understandable.

Hyped for next week! Season 3 to now is on another level!

Small detail but the bugs chirping when Mike was scoped up, also suddenly stop right before the car horn goes off

I didn't mean he was completely off of the project but Brandon gives a majority of the credit to Vince even though the final decisions come down to Peter hence why he's the showrunner.

Nicky Grajek

Around season 3 or 4, Vince has said that he stepped away from the writing process and the show is more responsible of the other co-creator Peter Gould. Also Rhea Seehorn (GIVE THIS WOMAN A DAMN EMMY) and Michael McKean are phenomenal next season

Scott Bennici

I’m all for the Peter Gould hype but Vince Gilligan literally wrote and directed this episode

Anonymous

That doesn’t change the fact that Peter is still the showrunner. I’ve only heard Brandon credit Vince throughout BCS, never Peter.

Yeah it's quite a masterclass of storytelling when you can build something like the Jimmy/Kim/Chuck scene from the previous episode, where Chuck is 100% correct but just his manner & his whole character is making us root against him for the person who, again, 100% sabotaged him.

oh my word the next 2 episodes are 10/10

“Yes! Dude! Better Call Saul hyperlapses!”

I absolutely in no way think it's Jimmy's fault that Chuck got hurt last episode. if we really want to blame someone, we could blame their parents for obviously doting on Jimmy and giving Chuck this complex as a kid. without it, Chuck would have chalked up the error to his own doing and moved on, rather than always blaming everything on Jimmy. if anything, that scene in the beginning of this episode explains to me why Chuck despises Jimmy so much: he hates that Jimmy was the favorite. it must have been so awful having your dying mother's last words be your brother's and not yours but Jimmy can't be blamed for that. another thing: how is it Jimmy's fault that he decided to be the sensible one and get food for them so they could have strength to keep watching over their mother's sick bed? how could he have known she would die shortly after? I think it was kind of a dick move for Chuck to then lie about it after Jimmy flat out asked him if she'd said anything. back to the Mesa Verde thing: like I get that Chuck is 100% right about it but for all the wrong reasons. he has zero proof and then he tricked Jimmy into confessing by using his brother's love and concern for him. that's just fucked up. I hate Chuck so much but I love to hate him at the same time lol

Seehorn not having an Emmy for her work on this show is pretty upsetting. She hasn't even been nominated. :(

I also like how all of these people are flawed in some way. The main characters have depth and they all act realistically. There are major developments and storylines for each of them. The best shows have characters that you actually care for or are interested in. This and BB do a fantastic job of that.

Everyone talks about Rhea and deservingly so but the case can be made for Bob Odenkirk too. Never thought he would be able to command a lead role. Seems like he was born to play this character.

Those of us who are superfans and (probably) have listened to every episode of the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul insider podcasts know this already. I just think Brandon cannot possibly know the changing balance between Vince and Peter because Brandon has been trying to avoid spoilers. But yeah, Peter Gould is the bomb and is the creator of the Saul Goodman character.

Anthony L

How can Rhea NOT have even a nomination? Seriously incomprehensible. Did some conniving jealous higher up that she worked with put her on some black list?

Anthony L

Chuck was never mad at Jimmy for the bad timing of going to get the food. Chuck is completely envious of Jimmy's status with their parents. Jimmy could have been just down the hall taking a leak and Chuck still would never have mentioned their mom's last words, unless they had truly been about Chuck or had been favorable to Chuck's viewpoint (like "Watch out for Jimmy, he cannot make it without your intervention and help").

Nikki Sonrisa

oh no, I don't think Chuck was upset about that either. I was more referring to Brandon's comments about it during the reaction. I agree with you: I think no matter where Jimmy was, Chuck would have been upset about it because as I said, he resents their parent's favoritism of Jimmy over him.
