Was able to sync up with the video, worked great. You are asking all the right questions and the mini-series will answer them. I generally knew about the disaster before watching as well, but the events that took place after the explosion I had no clue about and it blew my mind. You will enjoy, just brace yourself at certain parts.

Hey, I'm gonna enjoy watching this show again with your comments. I like the type of questions you ask and that you acknowledge the art of it (the process of making the movie/show). But just for the future, maybe you can include 2 or 3 time stamps during the episodes? It will help for those who accidentally skip, need to go somewhere or simply can't watch full length episode in one sitting. I think it will improve your channel even more. Have a good one !

Appreciate the kind words, thank you for your support! Hope you enjoying watching along! And that's a good idea, I'll see what I can figure out for that for future ones

The best thing by far would be to do it like other reactors do, keep a timer going in the bottom that shows where you are in the episode so if i want to skip ahead i will immediately know where you are. another thing would be to maybe keep the audio in whatever you are watching at a low volume so its not complete silence

Appreciate the suggestions! Do they keep a timer of when they started their reaction or of the episode itself? I usually start reaction video after the first couple of opening logos so that's why I ask

Timer usually starts from the very beginning of the episode, its easier that way

Not surprising at all how the state officials acted. That's what it was all about in the Soviet Union, and how it still is in Russia today. Defend the State's reputation at all costs - lie like mad, cover up, risk the safety of the people, just as long as the State's decisions and projects and boasting points (such as state of the art nuclear power plants) come off as successes of the government. That isn't really stupidity. It's a learned behaviour, a systemic culture, drilled in through years and years of fear and brainwashing. It's also about self-protection - you go against the State and you're an enemy of the State.
