Hey Cultists!

So a slight delay on this video because……I lost most of the footage I filmed! But fear not, this has resulted in a positive outcome! So this prompted me to get my new camera, which on a first test is a vast improvement. I lost the first couple stages of painting the black, so I re-filmed the process on the backpack with the new camera. Hope you can see it is sharper and brighter. The audio should be a little bit better with my new mic set up too. This will still improve as I had it set a little sensitive on my first time.

So what you have are the black on the backpack start to finish, followed by what I saved of the figure. Hopefully this is enough explanation for you and you enjoy it! Moving forward I am excited to use the better quality footage, I am now shooting in 4k instead of 1080.

I also want to include a summary process written here to help. I may end up doing mini summary PDFs to accompany the videos. The process in these can be summarised as follows:

Blue-Black

Sketch large Dark sea blue 70.898 highlights

Highlight DSB + AK Dark Blue Grey

Highlight AK Dark Blue Grey

Highlight Dark Blue Grey + VMC ivory 70.918

For focal areas such as the helmet and main view, continue to add Ivory until decide contrast.

Glaze DSB for blending and tone.

Glaze Black or DSB + Black if needed for shadows.

NMM Silver

Sketch VMC Dark grey 70.994 in broad highlights. Only leave black in very dark shadow areas.

Highlight VMC Neutral Grey 70.992

Highlight VMC Blue Grey Pale 70.905

Highlight Blue Grey Pale + White/Ivory or I do recommend using VMC Pale Blue 70.906 which I used in some places.

FInal highlight of Nocturna Highlight Skin 74.006 or Ivory plus a touch of orange/peach

Use any mixes needed to blend between tones. For Example it is quite a jump from dark grey to Neutral, so you may prefer to make a mix between depending on your style of painting. Use previous mixes to adjust volumes.

I hope you find these little summaries useful. I think with some still images too it could be helpful for you.

As always let me know your thoughts. I hope you see the improvement in quality of footage, for the new parts on the backpack. I would also love to hear your thoughts on how straight forward/approachable these processes are. I have tried to make them easy to follow, to make NMM more approachable for those newer to the technique, so your opinion is invaluable.

Ill get cracking on the cloak I think,

Cheers everyone!
