And it gets interesting again

I actually forgot Kakashi Gaiden was around the corner. As far as we are concerned, Obito is just another Uchiha guy. Sasuke's father you have seen already, his name was Fugaku. Maybe some others can untangle the confusion better than me. Or maybe you figured it out when watching it back and editing this for youtube :D Anyhow, I love the quote by Obito at the end, regarding shinobi that abandon their comrades being worse than scum. If you recall, Kakashi said that exact quote to Naruto & co, when Sasuke and Sakura went against his rule to not share their food with Naruto during the bell exercise (episode 4 & 5 of the original Naruto). You can see that Obito was an influence to current Kakashi.

Obito's words are such good writing. "In the ninja world those who break the rules and laws are regarded as scum, but those who would abandon even one of their friends are even worse than scum. I'm scum anyway, so I’m going to choose to break the rules". Couple of sentences, but says so much about this young boy and his character. No BS, so heartfelt, so true. Kakashi and his teammates are a bit young to have teenaged kids by Naruto's time :) Don't know why you thought he was Fugaku, when we have already seen Sasuke's father. Obito is a nobody, no relations to anybody we know in the show.

Allonsyyy, two things. 1. In case you forgot, the phrase where Obito tells Kakashi that "those who abandon a friend are worse than scum" was what Kakashi told team 7 after approving them as a team. 2. Obito does not share any family lineage with Sasuke and Itachi, they only belong to the same lineage of the clan, which is the Uchiha clan, just as there are clans such as the Hyuga, Sarutobi, Inuzuka, Aburame, etc, that does not mean that all the members are family or who are father, brother or son of such person, only belong to the same dynasty sharing the same blood. Greetings from Chile!

Don't forget that Uchiha clan had almost 100 members before Itachi killed everyone. So not everybody was directly related. There were lot of second and third cousins so Obito is not closely related to Sasuke and Itachi. Also remember that Kakashi is 20 something right now in Shippuden so someone his age couldn't possibly be Sasuke's father. To make it easier to understand, if Sasuke's father was alive today, he'd be around 35-40, Kakashi is around 27, Itachi is 20-21 and Sasuke is 15.

Of course the Uchiha themselves considered each other a family because well they're a lot like Japanese feudal clans from history. They also married their 2nd and 3rd cousins.

10/10 on Kakashi Gaiden. It's a great little mini arc and it explains a lot about Kakashi. You can definitely see where both of them are coming from. It's just a difference in life experience. Kakashis had such a brutal experience with this exact situation and Obito hasn't so even if Kakashi doesn't necessarily agree with what he's saying, he thinks of his Dad and how it affected him and doesn't want to feel like he did so he goes really hard in the other direction. Obito hasn't had that experience so he can't imagine a situation in which you abandon your comrades and let them be killed or tortured or whatever else when you could have saved them. Neither are wrong. Just depends on what the outcome is. Also, I don't agree that this needed to be watched before Shippuuden lol. This can be enjoyed at any time.

Minato is my absolute favorite character in this series and the scene in the forest is a prume example of how awesome he was. Telling your troops in a time of war that if you see one specific individual you need to fucking leave is the ultimate sign of respect. The backpack drop is the biggest flex in this show

I think Shippuden is perfectly enjoyable in the order it was released ❤️ I can understand why people say to watch this before that & that before this…etc. But it’s nice to sometimes have a small break in the main story line and it always gives so much depth to all the characters throughout the main plot of shippuden. I can’t wait for the next episode!!

I guess you forgot that Fugaku was Sasuke's and Itachi's father.
