I only have a vague idea about the plot. That first opening is probably my favorite though. It's beautiful 😭

I love Fruits Basket, you're right that it is a very warm show but it's also not all sunshine and rainbows and dives into a lot of real issues people face day to day. So without spoiling, the show revolves around the chinese zodiac which is why in the season 2 opening you're seeing animals. The season 1 openings are vague in showing the plot because it's going on the premise that a lot of people watching already know the story and for those that haven't read the manga or seen the old anime aren't spoiled on anything. I'm only guessing on the reason for the umbrellas in the 2nd opening is because in the latter half of the season there's turmoil for most characters but the skies clearing meaning it's resolved which is why they throw the umbrellas away at the end. Definitely put a bit more light onto what the series is about and totally makes it sound WAY more interesting! Looks like a great anime!

I was skeptical when first started watching this due to it being a shoujo but i loved it almost immediately and covered subjects rarely covered and does it correctly
