well it depends on what and how you mainly plan to use the camera,, I use the Canon G20 which is pretty expensive, (it was because of patreon i was able to get it) big and heavy compared to other camcorders out there but it has exceptional quality (much higher than what I upload at) has a wide format and records in MP4. i like pretty much all of the canon line up.. i started the channel with the canon r600,, now called the r700 and that was a great camcorder for the price ($300) but it didnt have wide enough format lens for what i wanted and a remote control.

The scratchy digging sounds in this video and attention to detail taking out the tingle stones was amazing!
