Hello! I have a huge beta pre-release download for you today!

A couple weeks ago I finished up the first Elements Tileset pack and shared a beta version here with patrons.

Since then, I've been working hard on the follow-up pack. The plan is to release both of these packs simultaneously, so there is enough content to get working on a game world (and then after these are released, it's back to character pieces for the next expansion!) So I've been grinding pretty hard on these tiles over the past week, because there's a bit of a deadline on them if I want to release the two packs together.

Today, I'm happy to share with you what I have so far: this a special preview of the three cave biomes that will make up the Elements: Caves tileset pack.

The set will have three primary cave-types: the root cave (root walls with mud floor), the mossy rock cave (natural rock walls and mossy-stone floor), and the man-made stone cave (chiseled rock walls and smooth-stone floor).

As you can hopefully see, these continue the Elements style of highly-detailed textures meant to capture the grittiness of the best SNES RPGs.

These rock textures took a lot out of me (including a serious eye strain headache last night 😵)-- I hope that you enjoy them!

For now, I'm happy to show off the base textures and walls that make up these three cave types.

Downloads:

Here are three tilesets-- in the "A5" format that can be used in RPG Maker.

Note that these tilesets are only half-complete; the focus is on the general cave walls and the floors. There should be enough to create layouts and experiment with the walls and elevation (more than enough if you compare to a lot of cave locations back in the SNES days LOL).

------

In the future, the set will also have a bunch of tiles to make dungeons in these locations, including classics objects like spike traps, mine-rails, etc-- but those will come next.

In fact, if you have suggestions or ideas for what to include on the object-layer tilesets, let me know.

And also-- as with all of my beta releases here: if you find any errors or mistakes with the tiles, please let me know!

------

Note: was gonna schedule this for tomorrow as a regular Friday post-- but I went ahead and published it immediately, so that if you want to use these tiles, you can get a head-start going into the weekend.

See you next week with something new.

Thanks!

The root cave is a great idea, I think some color would compliment the root design you have going on, even little things like spots of moss, mushroom patches, etc.

I love the high quality of Time Elements, keep it coming!
