Hello! Today's release is based on a popular patron request!

Hah! It's not tomorrow after all!

If you saw my update from this morning, you know that this one gave me a little bit of trouble, if only because I couldn't quite come up with the best way to organize it to go with the existing house tiles.

See: at first, I was working on making extra tiles to build the deck and railings directly into the wooden support-beams on the house tiles. That's where it was getting complicated and giving me troubles, partly because there's a ton of already-existing house variations.

In the end, I decided to go with something that isn't so ambitious. I think it was another case of overthinking things, or trying to get too cute. I abandoned the idea for complex connections, so the final set here is pretty straightforward.

For the most part, it should work with any type of house because you can simply use the deck boards as the terrain layer underneath the house tiles.

So extra apologies for the delay -- I just wanted to explain what happened with that, even though it didn't pan out. Ended up being more of a waste of time than anything else, since I went back to a more traditional add-on release. :P

So yeah, clicking publish right away on this one after messing with these all afternoon. So looks like we saved it as our regular Friday release! 🥳

Anyways -- this is a set of tiles for making a deck/porch to add onto the house. They use a new wood color that I came up with for these, because I wanted them to look a little less saturated as if they were faded from the sun (like the one on my own house 🤣!) I also took some inspiration from old wild-west town settings.

The images at the top of this post should provide some good examples of how to use these tiles: the house on the left side has a smaller patio on the side -- the connection isn't perfect, but it looks good enough to make sense, I think. The other house of course is an example that makes full use of the tiles to construct a western-style double-decker.

Like all my add-on sets, these are arranged in a regular grid so you can easily add them to any existing tileset.

Okay, enjoy your weekend! I'll be back on Monday or maybe Tuesday with something new.

Thanks!
