First of all, with holiday absences mostly over, we have a few Crowdcasts already scheduled for the near future. This is not an all-inclusive list (more might be announced too), but right now we have:

Friday, Jan. 15th, 1:00 p.m. U.S. Mountain time -- Jon Wilson. This will be a pretty casual, "hang-out" Crowdcast with a good friend of mine who made a career in the U.S. Navy. He is full of experiences, stories, and observations and just a fun guy to hang out with, so I'm offering you the opportunity to meet him in the same way as we've used Crowdcasts to talk about such non-Norse topics as dinosaurs.

Friday, Jan. 22nd, 1:00 p.m. Mountain time -- Luke Annear on Tolkien's scholarship. This Crowdcast does not overlap with Avedan Raggio's; what Luke Annear's own scholarship largely focuses on is Tolkien as a scholar rather than as a writer of fantasy (though he knows plenty about that too).

Friday, Jan 29th, 1:00 p.m. Mountain time -- Stella and me. Stella and I will host another Crowdcast with "just us" and the Patreon community. Stella and I have done this once before, right before 2020 went crazy, and it was a pretty good time for all, plus Stella is an amazing trove of resources for learners.

Friday, Feb. 5th, 10:00 a.m. Mountain time -- Andrew Coleman, Vicar in the Church of England, on the Bible and Norse myth. Comparing and contrasting ideas of prophecy, resurrection, etc. in the two bodies of lore.

Friday, March 5th (time t.b.d.) -- Dr. Roderick/Ruarigh Dale on the ever-recurring questions about berserkers and mushrooms.

In other news:

·I have renewed the Vimeo channel for another year. My reluctance wasn't that I don't like Vimeo (if it had the same reach, I'd prefer it to Youtube), but just that I thought I was paying for a backup channel no one looked at. The past few weeks have shown me that more than a few of you have been using it (especially the Old Norse lessons and installments in Lokasenna posted early there, which you can find from here).

·Patreon messages are still pretty broken. I know some of you have not seen ones I've sent you, and I still stumble on messages from you that I never got notifications for. So please use Stella's address at admin@jacksonwcrawford.com to make sure that we get your communication.

Thank you very much for your continued support in 2021! Wishing you all joy in the new year,

Jackson Crawford
