Yes, the Old Norse calendar is the topic that technically won the vote for this month. However, the real information about this subject is so obscure that I have had to order numerous arcane books and articles from Scandinavia to try to make sense out of it. Rest assured, it's not a simple topic, and it's going to have to wait until February before I can say anything with any confidence.

So this morning I posted the first Patreon-requested topic from our polls, but it's the runner-up topic instead: daily life for the Norse in the Viking Age. This is a huge video which took a lot of time and research itself, and I hope it's an adequate consolation prize while I puzzle out the months and seasons (obviously I could just make a one-minute video on the easy answer to this, "they were extremely vague about it," but I know that's not what you're looking for).

Congratulations to Adam Rauh for suggesting the daily life topic so that many of you voted for.

On Saturday, I also posted a video about a point I often try to make when someone asks me about what's "right" or "wrong" in Norse culture: it's more about social reputation (honor vs. shame) than about abstract lists of virtues and sins.

If you're an Erilaz supporter, you can suggest topics for the next Patreon-requested video (after the calendar topic) in the comments on this thread.

Otherwise, I'll have some more things for you soon, like this week's Patreon vocabulary video, and just possibly a surprise Crowdcast with a special guest.

Thank you dearly for your support for my series of educational videos, and all the best for now,

Jackson Crawford
