Welcome to my Patreon page! I’m very thankful for the time you’ve taken and the generosity you’ve shown in helping to support my series of educational videos online.

Here are a few key things to keep in mind (or questions I’m often asked):

1. I am not online all the time. After all, that’s the only way I can generate so much content (in videos and books), plus do my day job. While Patreon messages (on the left sidebar menu on the desktop version of Patreon) go directly to me, it may take me a while to get to them. So if you have questions about this Patreon page, or about Old Norse language or myth, the first person to ask is Stella ( admin@jacksonwcrawford.com ) who can answer many such questions or point you to excellent resources if not. (if you put the word Patreon in the subject we'll try to get to it faster) Patreon messages have become very buggy and are not a reliable way to get a question to us.

2. If you have general questions about Patreon itself, you’ll probably have better luck at the Patreon Help Center.

3. Translation requests have been discontinued as of November 2019. It is hard to get the word out everywhere, and many older videos mention this as a Patreon perk. However, many videos contain commonly requested words or even whole poems in Old Norse or runes, so you may find that what you wanted to request was translated already anyway. A good idea is to ask Stella ( admin@jacksonwcrawford.com ) first. I only occasionally do professional translation work in conjunction with major media projects such as movie and video game consulting; see the FAQs on my webpage (and keep in mind that I get many more requests than you probably think, and I have time for almost none of them given all my larger obligations and projects). I regret if you came here expecting to get something translated into runes or Old Norse as an immediate benefit. You can contact my assistant Stella Nathaniel to request a refund for your first month's contribution if that's what you came here for.

4. Prompted by the new rules about taxation on Patreon, as well as my own increased dependence on Patreon to make a living, the old $1 and $2 tiers for Patreon supporters were removed. More details about this change here.
