Just one quick thing regarding the movie because you keep bringing it up so it’s probably something you missed—when we first met Julian and he and Lucas were talking about the rights to the book they wrote up a contract giving Lucas almost full creative control over the movie. So that’s the reason he’s so involved as the writer. He’s also a producer and has final say on most things including casting. So, yeah it is actually his movie lol
