I found it pretty easy to keep up with times. 95 is darker yes. Cause it’s got this darker tone to that year as well. 93 is always bright and colorful. Everyone’s cheerful and happy. 94 they seem to keep the person like in this episode in the same clothes and look so in 94, Kate was always in blue and wasn’t her cheerful self. They use this for every character going forward. They have different looks/present different to tell the years apart. Ep 1 had janele nerdy, then without glasses and straight hair, and then shorts hair goth look. They use outfits and looks to help distinguish the years. Season 2 is finished filming and premiering this summer. Taking place over 3 years 1999, 2000, and 2001. It’s a whole new town/cast/story. No returning characters or actors. New thing to unravel over 3 years

Oh my gosh, this show is so good lol Can I just say that you’re doing a GREAT job telling the difference between the years. The major difference is in toning. Because not every scene in 93 can be during the day/every scene in 95 be at night. So, in 93, it is very much a warm tone with more saturation. So, for that night scene, with inside lighting, the lighting inside still cast more tan/yellow-y glow. 94 is the most neutral. Even-toned, white light, etc. 95 is dark, yes, but cool-toned. Very gray and blue.
