Creepy screencap choice. -shudders-

You're right that it can take a really long time to actually adopt a child. I believe when she meant by approved by the end of the meeting was just her eligibility of whether they'll put her on a list to get one or not and not actually getting the child. I also agree that they feel older than 22. More like 26-28 or so.

Yes agreed. Not to mention all the other shit he pulled that was even worse. But I guess Steven just didn't know.

Yes that meeting was just the last step in deciding her eligability not her getting a child, that takes a long time. I think the biggest hurdle wasn't her age but her being single and having a very busy work life.

this episode was really slow...especially compared to the last episode. but i think the purpose was to get into the mindset and psyches of our characters. brooke wanting to adopt a child seems really random and out of the blue until this episode where the social worker's line of questioning allows brooke (and the viewer) to get into her head and understand where this desire to be a mother came from. nathan and haley's therapist did a good job of explaining why nathan was willing to entertain the nanny's flirting in the first place. i also like how she encouraged them to go back to what they love as a way to grow in their relationship. i agree i could've done without the peyton/record store owner and lucas/andy scenes though. but the brooke and nathan/haley scenes gave us some good development for these characters.

she literally said “baby steps” with brooke picking up jamie cuz that was the first time she allowed it. i feel like you miss so much when you are looking at your other screen

I get the purpose of this episode but it feels way too slow. Too much talking. Much needed but maybe they could have condensed that to 20mins somehow and have a bit of plot development in the other half? Didn't enjoy it as much but, again, I get how it's necessary to kind of understand where each character is at

Also, this adopting thing, the whole of it moving forward from now...this was what I meant when I said at the beginning of the season that they wrote the characters in a way that makes them seem much older. Maybe Brooke would want a kid, maybe even at 22 considering her "accelerated" life but the way they write these storylines for her just doesn't make a lot of sense.
