Gomez in the cartoon is what they seemed to have went for here... Luis Guzman is actually pretty accurate with that in mind. Gomez, short, chunky and not exactly a suave debonair handsome type... while Morticia is a tall slender with a touch of curves and looks type. The original tv show from the 1950s' stared John Astin as Gomez and Carolyn Jones as Morticia... He was average and she was pretty but not abnormally so. In the movies back in the 1990s' (where we had a sneak peak at a little miss Mercedes McNab aka Harmony from Buffyverse) we had Raul Julia as Gomez and Anjelica Huston as Morticia... he was above average and she was, well, Anjelica Huston... can't mistaken her looks with that of someone else, that's for sure. This show is pretty on the noes for casting from my point of view, it did take me by surprise for sure because it just wasn't the type of character I'm used to seeing from Guzman, he's acting as Gomez does... dumb, slow and overly happy and excited.
