I've always admired how this show handled Jimmy and the school shooting plotline. Jimmy wasn't a bad person, he wasn't evil, and he didn't intend to harm his former friends. He was a scared teenager who had spent the previous two years of his life being broken down and beaten up on a daily basis. He simply wanted to scare his bullies and chose the most counterproductive method. I believe many of those students understood because they witnessed it; maybe even felt it themselves. It was incredible to see the students empathize with Jimmy's mother and even Jimmy himself. We began this series with Jimmy, and while things did not end well for him, I am glad they gave him and the students some closure as we near the end of their high school years.

I have always loved Lucas and yes, it is THRILLING to see him this way. He's always been a sort-of Hamlet figure... paralyzed by indecision, grief and overwhelming feelings (I can relate) and I don't know, it's really great because it feels like the culmination of all of that has come to a head.
