Glad it gets better. Love the leads I think they act the parts well but some of the other choices are questionable

Sorry about the terrible episodes. Yeah the acting is BAD initially. I'd even say the plots aren't fantastic. It feels very witch-procedural to me. Stories that don't seem to connect to other episodes and it just is kind of boring. It's honestly like season one of Buffy, but drawn out. I'll be honest...season 2 is better, a significant step up, but it still isn't fantastic. This show doesn't hit its stride until season 3, which is a long way off. The reason is two of the showrunners were basically having a battle over what the show would be. One ended up leaving after season 2. She started to lose a lot of control in season 2 as well. Anyway, the result is a mess. Luckily, one won out and took the show in a better direction and it definitely becomes like Buffy in later seasons. So I just want to temper your expectations on where this goes for awhile. It's going to be some bad acting for a bit and the episodes will feel like they aren't very connected or have consequences.

I agree with the others. Season 1 has a lot episodes that are just ok or episodes that are down right bad. Season 1 picks up towards the second half of the season so those tend to be the episodes I rewatch from this season. Of the episodes you've seen I think the best episode so far is Episode 4 (Episode was called "Dead Man Dating" which featured John Cho as a guest star) and I feel like that honestly just shows a small glimpse of the potential of what the show will turn into in terms of good/great storytelling. Season 2 is significantly better than Season 1 and Season 3 is a really great season. For me there are actually many very good/great episodes from Season 4 onward.

It gets so much better! I know we all keep saying it lol but it is very true hopefully you'll be able to see what we mean going forward. It's definitely a show worth the time.

Oh boy, this episode... Well, I can honestly congratulate you on getting through the worst episode of season 1( and probably the entire series). The only way is up now. I feel like with this episode they really found out what NOT to do and started improving SIGNIFICANTLY starting the next episode and onwards. God, I honestly hate this episode. The sister stuff is the only thing that redeems it a little bit, but everything else is sooo cringe, the acting is so god-awful in this. The story isn't good and the resolution was kinda trash. Regarding their powers, I actually really like that in episode 6 of the only first season, they are still kinda weak, and the sisters just only starting to explore their magic, how it works and how to control it. There is a lot of room to grow. And we get to enjoy their journey. As opposed to when shows make their protagonists all-powerful at once, with pretty much no limitations, and everything could be solved in seconds super easy, and there is basically no story to tell and no room for development.

Also... Look at Steven already jamming to the theme song LOL :)

The first season is the absolute worse of the show, it get's better in season 2 and after that it gets a lot better. Hope you stick with it, cuz it just this season and the acting and the building of the lore are really good after that.

No one likes this episode lol. In my opinion it really starts to pick up with episode 8 and on, that's where I feel like they found their footing. All shows have good and bad points

This episode may not be anyones favorite, but the meaning behind it is recognizable for many I'm sure. Power of love at the end and Phoebe learning she needs to look a little deeper into her power. Plus, we learned that if you prick a demon they don't bleed. Good lesson for the future, guess we should all get to wearing brooches like our grand/great grand mothers did or still do... I'm for it, maybe hair/hat pins too. People still wear buttons. Any who, this may not have been a great episode, but the next one may start to turn things around a bit, episode 7 is not one of my faves but I have heard some people like it a lot. Episode 8 is no doubt the start of the better episode. Season one was just to learn more about the girls and their abilities... the story just wasn't there yet, the writers had just been starting to dip their pens into that world a so, I feel, learned what they really wanted to say. Just gotta get though the pain-full beginning, I felt the first season of Buffy went the same way... that corny acting and odd scripts, but they had Sarah Michelle to carry them to the next season where things picked up. In Charmed it was Shannon who carried most of these episodes with her acting and Holly Marie bringing the sweet lovableness like Alyson did for Buffy while Phoebe brings the gullible and annoying character like Xander. Everyone who was a part of this show, actors, writers and directors had all used the first season to try to find their footing and eventually found it. Looking forward to the day when you find that episode or season that gets your love like with episode 4, "Dead man dating." Gotta remember, the girls are still learning... just like every ability and lesson, you get better with time. BTW... The show Alison was talking about is "Touched by an Angel." I loved that show so much, It's like "Highway to Heaven" but newer, with more than one angel and just so gosh darn good. If your ever looking for a super heartwarming show you so should give it a go. Also, if you're into looking for a show with a non-supernatural yet mysterious and heartwarming/heart toughing to boot feel, then you should try "The Pretender" staring an awesome actor named Michael T. Weiss. He has played in many things as well, but was really known for his roll in "The Pretender." I'm not saying you should react to it, that would be awesome, but so many people have never heard of it and I don't think anyone would vote for it aside from me. No-one has reacted to it from what I know... I've looked, a lot.

You can see even the hardcore fans can't deny how bad this is haha, it's sad some people see such episodes and give up thinking the whole show is like this, oh well. I don't dislike the first season at all, first half of it is surely cringy, but it's kind of charming in a way. It's so nice to see where the sisters started, they are so different here, and many things are specific to season 1 which I won't spoil, but I just love the cozy vibe, it's so 90s!! Second half of the season honestly has good episodes that I love to rewatch, but you're not over the bumpy part yet. Next episode fans will say is better than this or previous one, and it probably is acting wise yet I personally skip it more. Episode 8 I like a lot.
