I really like this episode. And I like that we seem to be getting an episode that deals with one law student as focus each episode. On Connor's behavior, I am of two minds. One is that while clearly Oliver wants Connor as a boyfriend, he seems to be very aware that he isn't. Oliver wants something besides just sex, which seems to be the primary thing that is occurring outside of hacking help. And when Oliver is hacking the phone lines, he makes the comment that Connor might have been under the desk doing something else (ie performing oral sex). If this is some indication of how he talks to Connor, he is given the impression that sex can still be on the table with other people. Of course the other side of that argument is that Connor isn't stupid. He should be very aware even if its just from the morning before the case starts, that Oliver wants them to be actually dating and not just fuck buddies. So I don't think its ok, to throw hands over this. But it is absolutely Oliver prerogative to decide that this relationship (whatever it maybe) isn't the committed relationship that he is seeking. So the question for me when I watched this, since we do know Oliver's opinion on things. Just how does Connor feel about Oliver (I think he likes him to some degree). Is he just upset that he's lost his hacker? Is he someone who wants a relationship, but just doesn't believe in monogamy? Or is he actually surprised that Oliver is so hurt by what he did? Hell it could be all of them.... When this first aired, critics went over the moon over the last scene with Viola Davis removing her makeup. It's a great and powerful scene (done by an exceptional actress), but it always reminds me of Glenn Close's final scene in the film Dangerous Liaisons (which is a great film, with another powerful scene done by a exceptional actress). Why did Bonnie lie about how she get the confession tape? My gut feeling is that even though she was told to do anything to get the tape, that she was afraid of what Annalise's reaction would be in putting Nate's (her boyfriend on the side) job in more jeopardy and how that would impact the two of them dating. Just a gut reaction.

When this episode aired live, and Annalise said that last sentence, everyone went crazy. Watching this first season live was an experience and it is so great to watch this series again.

I think Connor didn't realise that he wanted more than sex with Oliver until Oliver was hurt and threw him out. As he said once, he doesn't do boyfriends, but now he is in the position that for the first time there is somebody who he actually has feelings for.

The final line is so iconic.

I Am Not Chamari

Wow - there is more than one iconic moment in this episode! The scene where Maren and Annalise are in her office and she gets up to leave with her purse is a very popular gif. And of course, that last scene... The removal of the layers is so wonderfully performed. And the final line... really shook the nation. You had to have been there. Everyone went crazy... I swear everyone was talking about it the next morning.
