Fly on the Wall

Silas originally just wanted to live forever with his one true love. So he took the immortality spell and was going to give it to his lover, but Qetsiyah found out he betrayed her as she thought they'd take it together so she kills his lover and buries him with the cure with the hopes he'd take it and die. Unbeknownst to him at the time, she created the other side, so if he did take it and die, he'd be separated from his true love for all time and be stuck on the other side with her. Hell hath no fury, right? Now Silas simply wants to take the cure, which will simply make him human, lift the veil to the other side using Bonnie's magic and the expression triangle, and then he simply plans to die so he can finally be dead after 2000 years of living in hell, and also be reunited with the person he loves. It's kind of poetic and Shakespearean. I kind of feel for Silas here and find myself rooting for him if it wasn't for the other side disappearing and the hell on Earth that comes with it. I kind of feel like he has no real malice in his plan or actions, and is why he doesn't kill our heroes when he had every chance to.

I think Caroline and Elena ended up with the right prom dress. They both look gorgeous. And Klaus giving her the dress was definitely a callback to Season 3 when the Mikaelsons had their soiree. And I'm glad after an entire season of Caroline coming for Damon, that they had a nice moment here. The only reason why it took so long to vervain Elena and stick her in the basement is that the writers just wanted us to see how far she could go without her humanity. I literally think that is the only reason, so they could continue this arc for awhile.
