Yes Sandy was born and raised in the Bronx, but his mom is in Miami because she retired there. She's in a retirement community there.

This ep kicks off the two most interesting storylines of the season for me, which make the next few eps some of my favorites. The first being the aftermath of Marissa's assault (pretty terrible, but I don't think it's a surprising turn for Trey's character). The second I won't mention because I can't tell if you've picked up on it yet (but they've actually done an excellent job of quietly building toward it).

This show was at its best when it embraced the inner screwball humor over the soap drama, imo. Which is why my favorite season is...not this one, lol.

I love this episode for so many reasons. Its the start of some of my favorite storylines and i love the nostalgic 2000s MTV spring break idiocy. All the cheating happening in this episode makes sense though, each one for a different reason. Summer has always been the one to immediately get back at Seth with whoever is standing next to her at that moment more or less, Zack didnt really plan on having a thing with summer but we all know he is still in love with her, Kirsten has been into Carter forever, and after Rebecca it makes sense that she is, if Rebecca hadn't happened, she probably wouldn't have let herself fall for somebody else. Kirsten is one of my favorite characters overall and her storyline in season 3 is one I always look forward to. Seth is naive and cant say no to a pretty girl. And Trey is just Trey. I agree that they gave a big story to Marissa AGAIN, but I really don't mind this one, I love it. From this episode on shit's really going down, season 3 is my absolute favorite.

I wanna point out that the teen characters in this show don't really have sex unless they show it. Maybe Summer and Seth sometimes do when their relationship is in the right place, but Zach and Summer never had sex. Marissa and Ryan have never done it either.

This is totally a teen soap angst and drama so yeah Stephen you’re right if you were to watch it as a teen you probably would’ve ate it up

I watched this at 19, and I still thought it was too over the top and poorly written at times. It is technically a soap opera. But yes, it has been much less over the top at points, and that's where I definitely think it was at it's best. But there's still a lot to love/hold on to. And like people are saying, this is an upwardly good beginning of a story arc. This episode is setting things up to get better in many viewers' opinions.
