Leviathan are one of my favourite villains which is kinda weird seeing how a lot of people don't like them. I think you are going to love them as well.

Jared Padalecki's acting performance in this season and the next couple of seasons is really great. During the first few seasons, it felt like Dean was the most critical character of the plot, and now it's starting to shift to where Sam is becoming the focal point and it's really interesting. In my opinion, Sam's conflict with the Lucifer hallucinations is the best part of Season 7.

Leviathan just couldve been done so much better and had so much more potential than we actually got though. Think it had more to do with that, I know I still feel that way.

Yes, Cas is Dean’s best friend. Bobby’s a father figure, Sam is his brother....and at this time the show doesn’t really have other frequently recurring characters. Though it might have been surprising he still had that strong of a feeling after Cas broke Sam’s wall, but I think that shows the depth of the “profound bound” he has with Cas. Dean still thinks of Sam as a little brother to be protected and I think Cas filled the need Dean had for a friend.
