For what it’s worth, the stories driving you nuts don’t encompass the entire season. There’s lots of stories to come. I still hold season 2 as the best for me. Hope they manage to turn it around for you.

Yeah this episode's nowhere near the best of the season, but I enjoy it nonetheless. I appreciate Kirsten trying to get to know Lindsay and make her feel accepted. Marissa isn't a great character but I really empathise with her. Jimmy picked a bad time to leave.

Never cared too much for Marissa, but damn if she wasn't the MVP of this episode. Love pretty much all of her scenes, she's being a good girlfriend, daughter (by introducing the boyfriend) good character (the party scene was amazing), and the actress was on point, the scene at the ending was pretty touching, I don't understand what did you find weird about it. Poor Summer, she is definitely an amazing girlfriend, she forgave Seth in season 1, now Zach. Jimmy leaving was shitty but it is consistent with his character, a good guy but a child and a screw up, and it is also consistent with people from that kind of demographic. This episode is a 9 for me. The one redeeming quality about Marissa is that she follows her heart.

So let's just get it out of the way and say the first few episodes of season 2 were good and then Lindsay comes and it sucks lol Can't stand her, but the characters build and so do the storylines so it really gets better! Season 1 is still the best season though!

I agree with you Mischa Barton is an amazing actress in this episode! She rocks the character and the scene with Jimmy makes me cry so I guess I don't see the weirdness either!

I think I might have major nostalgia to this teen angst show because I see things in such a different light, but I mean I think watching back you have to put yourself in the 2000s and think back to being a teenager and what decisions they would make - it's a teen drama it is supposed to be overdramatic with comedy which is why Julie is such a great character - she builds and grows so I mean I don't know! I think you have to put yourself in the mindset for this show when watching

Marissa /Mischa Barton was amazing this episode. But I guess you'll find something to complain about no matter what 🙄

Andrea

This is very true to Jimmy's character, imo - he's a well-meaning guy who loves his family, but he's also an immature, wishy-washy, self-centered man child. That's how he's been from the beginning, which is how he became a crook in the first place. And yes, that equates to being a bad dad, despite his good intentions.
