I think Isaac (The Author) seemed scared in the beginning because he’s never done something like this before. He never changed peoples stories so much that it created a new world. Also, I totally get your confusion, I would be lying if I said I knew exactly was going on the first time around. But, what I seem to understand is that, according to what people understand, in Isaac’s book, Heroes do not win. For example, we all know Snow White and Prince Charming are Heroes in their original tale. However, in this reality, Snow White lost her true love (because of Regina) and Charming, as you said, is a slave to Snow. So, it’s clear that these heroes do not get a happy ending. Again, with Rumple, idk if you ever read the tale of Rumpelstiltskin, but if you remember episode 2x16 The Miller’s Daughter, it’s a similar story. Where Rumple helps The Miller’s Daughter (Cora) spin straw into gold in exchange for The Miller’s Daughter firstborn. So in Our World, we are to see Rumple as a villain because what hero goes around kidnapping children? But, in this reality he’s an Orge Slayer, saving people’s lives. So yes, Rumple is originally a villain, but in this story Villains win, therefore meaning Rumple has a happy ending. As for Regina’s ending, it doesn’t seem like she’s very content in her life which was probably done by Isaac on purpose, just to give Zelena her happy ending. But, we still haven’t seen some of the others like Hook! So, what did Rumple and Isaac end up writing for him ? Can’t wait for the next episode :)

Great reaction! Fun fact: Isaac becomes the author in December of 1966 and the apprentice mentions that the previous author had just died. Walt Disney died December of 66. I’m pretty sure the date on the letter is the exact date he died or the day after.
