That was Adama's first time seeing the film, right? So at least he approved of it BEFORE he saw it become a puff piece at the end. ;) This was a solid episode, but the only thing that makes it an essential one is the ending, imo.

I think it's a pretty important episode because of the interviews done with the crew. They kind of use the confessionals as a bit of a cheat code to let you get to know some of the secondary characters - notably Gaeta, Dee and Kat.

I liked this episode. It subtly shows things like how Kara isn’t just a hot shot pilot but a good leader who cares about her pilots. It reinforces how Tigh and Adama are so different but somehow work well together. And yes, lots of love to secondary characters. But I just want to point out two things: 1.) There are 12 models of Cylons. We’ve only seen a handful. 2.) At the end of the episode the Cylons mention that the two raiders were able to send the footage to wherever these Cylons are watching it. And I’ll leave it there.

The woman playing the reporter is Lucy Lawless. For us that were born before the 1990s, she'll always be Xena, the Warrior Princess! Also staring: Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings, Star Trek and The Boys) as Caesar and Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead, Brisco County jr, Burn Notice) as Autolycus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb8l1iRehpw

It's pretty obvious a puff piece because under the narration you can hear the Colonial anthem, more commonly known as the old show's intro music. We heard the anthem at least once before, in the pilot / mini series, when Adama was giving his "are we worth saving" speech and the Vipers did their fly-by above.
