J.K. Simmons is a great addition. I mean who doesn't love that guy. Glad to see Dick Jr. back. I love the actor and character. He's done remarkably well for himself despite his upbringing not to mention his brother being a murderer who killed himself. And yes, Logan being the well adjusted person in the relationship is an interesting 'twist', but certainly welcomed by me. But much like Dick Jr it's no surprise that Veronica is so messed up. While Logan certainly has had enough crap happen to him, he's doing something about it.

Glad you're enjoying this new style (so far) as much as I did! I agree, it feels like the execution of it all naturally evolved from the earlier seasons to better suit the current TV landscape, and this just feels more....polished to me.

I really like this season a lot. I feel like a lot of the hate that it got was from the hardcore Logan and Veronica shippers that just want to see them together and happy. I kinda like how they are portraying it as complicated. Veronica is broken as a person. She doesn’t like her life or her relationships unless it’s complicated. The theme song thing is so weird to me. They had an amazing theme song that everyone loves in season 1 and 2 and Rob Thomas for some reason felt the need to change it again twice. I kind of get that he wanted this seasons version to have more of a neo-noir feel to it and Chrissie Hynde, the lead singer of the Pretenders is an amazing singer but it just comes down to the original just being the best version of the song. The girl that plays Matty is very good, she had a cool role in the final season of Rob Thomas’s CW show, iZombie that they were filming around the same time as this Veronica Mars revival. And who doesn’t love J.K. Simmons? This character reminds me a little bit of his character from Oz (the HBO prison show that he starred in). I always love seeing Dick and sprinkling in Liam Fitzpatrick and Big Dick as characters that returned is very cool too.

This season is very professional. Excellent directing, writing and acting. I really think that most people really like this season and only have certain grievances with it. I really like the portrayal of both Logan and Veronica, they are both broken to a certain point, but Logan actually does something about it, which is very mature and i really like the fact that after all these years, he is the mature one in their relationship. It is very well thought of, as Veronica even though always problematic, never actually owned up to it. I believe she revels in all the things that make her a problematic person, whereas Logan always was troubled by that side of his. JK Simmons is always excellent and i loved Dick Jr. appearing again.

I agree I like the vibe of this season. It's fucked up that Logan's trying to be a better healthier person and Veronica wants him to be the old bad boy Logan but it's interesting and I feel like it's consistent with the characters.
