I agree Lex is one of the best things about the series. Michael Rosenbaum, the actor also voices the Flash in the 2001 Justice League animated seres and Justice League Unlimited. That is a great series. You would probably really enjoy it.

If you like Lex stuff, wait until next episode. That one is really solid and starts setting the upward trend of the quality of the episodes getting better.

@Steven: You should totally rewatch the scene at 12:30, you totally missed Martha's reaction to all that, it was so cute!

When I rewatch these old episodes I love it when I realize a callback to something. For example, the entire scene with Chloe and Clark breaking into the vet will be repeated almost verbatin in season 6, episode 5 with a different character. For me then it's always the question if this was a callback or pure coincedence.

A Smallville podcast I've been following for the past few weeks (called "Always Hold Onto Smallville") plays a game with these episodes: "What day is it?" They are real fans of the show but also enjoy pointing out the absurdities like people coming into the coffee shop in the middle of the day, not ordering anything but just delivering a piece of dialog and then leaving again. Or Chloe basically being the sole staff of the Torch and publishing a daily high school newspaper.

Another "problem" this show has is with ages. All these characters are supposed to be 14/15. Yet they drive cars and drink coffee all the time. And here Lana tells us how she remembers her last birthday with her parents. Lana was born in 1986 or 1987 (more likely the latter). This is 2001. Her parents died on Homecoming 1989. They didn't live to see her third birthday and yet Lana supposedly remembers... I let it go because the closing scene was so cute but there will be more serious issues with ages down the road.

The guy who plays Dr. Hamilton is Joe Morton who often plays the genius but often misguided scientist. Most famously he recovered the parts of the destroyed Terminator and helps create Skynet in Terminator 2.

You need to think of meteor rocks as an 'enhancer' like, whenever they are used on something it enhances it to the extreme (with side effects most often). Example, used in a smoothie meant to be healthy it is healthy to the extreme (i.e it makes her burn calories in seconds and lose weight really fast). And the side effect is obv, the hunger.

As much as I love SMALLVILLE I will admit season 1 sucked in comparison to later seasons. I'm just hoping you keep it going... looking forward to you reacting to 3 on.
