So i wanted to write a proper long post to explain whats happening with the Dropbox links being broken.

So I revived an email saying that my account has been suspended for Excessive Traffic. So I have never gotten an email like this from Dropbox before so I contacted them and spent time on the phone and in a chat room with them to figure out what happen.

I was told that my account was receiving a lot of streams and downloads over the past few days and since I exceeded my limit of bandwidth my account was suspended.

I took this to mean we have grown so much on Patreon with the inclusion of movies and the reactions my brother does that keeping it to one account is not going to work.

Actually if I never would have open Vimeo the odds are this would have happened sooner because of the amount of people watching.

Because of the size of the files and the amount of files being downloaded and streamed it’s just more than what an account on Dropbox is meant for.

This is what I was told and I guess it makes sense.

I am currently signing up to two more Dropbox accounts to split up the bandwidth for all the shows me and my brother do. I wasn’t aware how much bandwidth was being used to stream and download the videos off of Dropbox. So I will have 3 total accounts that me and my brother will use to spread the shows out so that accounts never exceed the “Excessive Traffic” limit.

It will take me a bit to make sure everything is spread evenly so please bare with us for the next few days while we move some things around and add links to older post.

We will still have stuff coming out but some things will be delayed a bit.

Some of you have said just use Vimeo but the problem is that Vimeo has had issues as well. Different kinds of issues but issues nonetheless.

Some say that I should use GoogleDrive. About a year ago I did use google drive but it also had issues which is why I switched to Dropbox.

What I may look into is maybe opening back up a GoogleDrive account just to have another way for you all to watch the reactions.

I want the best experience possible for everyone and I know the streaming locations work differently for different people. You have all supported me so much that all I want is to do my best to make the experience as smooth as possible.

Below I Want To Know Based On Your Experience With More Or Other Creators Which Stream Platform You Prefer.

Vimeo seems to go ridiculously slow, dropbox has always had some issues here and there but I've never had a problem with google drive at least.

Anonymous

I thought Google drive had viewer limits?

Amanda Winner

I try Dropbox first and if that doesn't work then Vimeo

Pho3nixX

For longer videos I watch Dropbox first then use Vimeo for the end - when I try to watch the entire video on Vimeo I have to keep restarting it. As for google drive idk.

Miah

For me, I always download the videos as that avoids any streaming issues that a lot of viewers seem to experience. I've never had an issue with Dropbox, but as long as Vimeo allows downloading, I'm fine with that as well. I did have a lot of issues with people who use Google Drive as they have viewer limits which always created an issue for me. There are workarounds for that, but it was always a huge pain.

Andrea

I prefer Vimeo because through that I can watch them on the Vimeo Roku app on my TV instead of the computer, but I'll watch them wherever you put them!

Futuristic Girl

I prefer Vimeo. It works better for me.

Mandzipop

I download it from dropbox just in case my internet goes down while watching. But I do that with all of the Patreon's I follow. It saves having to search for the video's. I'm good with any of them. I never have issues.

Ruby Alice

Vimeo works a lot easier for me and downloads are also super easy from there

Reef Sami

So what about the previous reactions that weren't posted on Vimeo how can we watch them

Jalios

I mean that is in the post: "It will take me a bit to make sure everything is spread evenly so please bare with us for the next few days while we move some things around and add links to older post." And it's not like the current links are dead forever, it's a 24 hour suspension, so after that they are back and the whole spreading the links across multible accounts is just to prevent it from happening in the future again.

Silver of House Stormm

Typical this has happened the day I signed up lol. The universe hates me!

Amanda S

The newer reactions have Vimeo links in them, so you can watch some of those in the meantime if you want :)

Magus

Ive been doing direct download from dropbox because streaming quality seems low, I assumed due to overall net usage due to covid. I mean to be fair out of the few people i have joined patreons for you put out more content faster. Im sure the time put into doing all this is a factor but some do 3-6 videos a week. I wonder how having such a wide range of shows impacts i t, I would think it might spread out the usage since not everyone is into as many things but some people like myself are into a bunch.

Gravityfair

I mostly watch on Dropbox, because Vimeo won’t let me turn my phone sideways to make the screen bigger. Anyone else experience that?

Daryl

I'll use any link that has a download option as I don't like to rely on streaming. I joined just for Doctor Who.

I prefer to download from Dropbox. Streaming videos is just too unreliable and I don't want to encounter any buffering.

s jaco

I used always pick Dropbox, but that started buffering and cutting of the end. I have never had any issues using Vimeo so I watch everything there.

Siti Dee

Vimeo always works really well for me, either streaming and even downloading! Googledrive works quite well for streaming but awfully slow if you tried to download a file. Dropbox sucks lol

4Tom4lepus4

I've had issues with pretty much every option there is, GoogleDrive occasionally deletes stuff, Vimeo and Dropbox sometimes suck but I don't think anything has been outright deleted by/from them.

emmainkeri

Well I've found that downloading from Dropbox works the best for me and is the fastest option, but I suppose as long as I'm able to download instead of stream (buffering is a bitch) I'm happy.

Paul Gibson

Dropbox is terrible, I watch on vimeo almost exclusively. The most reliable program by other reactors is onehub

Abbie C

I don't really mind as long as it reliably works and generally for me Vimeo has been more reliable for me.

jbcreate

whatever works for you guys, DB does give me issues with larger files where i'll manually swap it to 480 for a few minutes but otherwise nothing crazy negative about the platform for me personally

Stephanie Bedworth

I love using Dropbox but I will be happy with any service that lets me download the video.

Maxwell Long

O get the value of having multiple sources in case one is taken down and what not - For me, Dropbox works but you have the issue of being capped at 1 hours unless you download the content. Vimeo works best but it is also the easiest to get flagged. Google Drive never even streams for me on any of my devices and its only value is quality downloading. Vimeo is my choice.

Rumpus Parable

Yikes! I just bought in so I could watch the Firefly reactions... Hope it doesn't get too much headache moving stuff around. I've had to do similar shifts for data size rather than bandwidth, it's an interesting time. I'm liking getting these through dropbox since I can directly move it over to mine and view from there, but whatever ends up working for you works for me!

Sharon Owen

If I stream I use Vimeo, if I download it for later I use either. I'm not too fussed with either. Not a fan of Google Drive for videos. I work in TV and we always use vimeo to watch rough cuts and send videos to clients and broadcasters

Anonymous

Ever thought of using onehub?

GeekedOutNation

I’m looking into that as well. Don’t know much about it though. Do you know creators who use it?

AyaaChann

I prefer Vimeo because i stream to my tv. I can do that with googledrive and dropbox to but sometimes it breaks connection. And if i want to check something else on my phone it plaus without sound. But i would use whatever works best for you. I mean i downloaded Dropbox a while ago because that is what you use XD. But i would just watch it through whatever works best for you.

Anonymous

Dropbox sucks imo, constantly buffering and freezing for me so I just download your reactions wherever possible

Miguelito

Reactions are reactions at the end of the day🤷‍♂️ I just look forward to watching them :)

Diamond Blount

Never had any issues with video. I could never want the full video if I try Dropbox, i even try downloading, but still have problems. So I just use vimeo
