I felt like this was a good ep for Sky’s character development at least. We saw she’s good at lying (despite her passion for uncovering the truth) and thinking on her feet, and we got of little bit of her backstory at the end, which helps the viewer understand what motivates her. She is an enigma at this point so you really don’t know if she’s loyal to SHIELD or if she will betray them. It feels like it could go either way with her. We don’t know much about other characters like Fitz or Simmons either at this point, but I couldn’t imagine them being bad. Btw, I love how much you love them already. 🥰 It wasn’t a great ep overall though. I think I remember liking the next one better.

The thing you have to know about season 1 is the reason is feels slow is that it is setting up A LOT of groundwork. As far as this episode goes, I will say, no you can not skip it.....because.....reasons. I know you've watched through at least ep 10 by this point that I'm commenting, so maybe you've picked up on that more, but as everyone keeps telling you....just keep going. The payoff will come.
