I agree. It does have some flaws and it’s not one of my favorites but I do think you’re overthinking it a little bit. The immortal thing they don’t really explain how it works. We don’t know that he can’t be killed, just that he can do a spell that makes him young again. I did love seeing Barry Bostwick from, among other things, Rocky Horror. And the actors who played old and young Charlie are actually father and son. I think this is mainly a way to move along the Sam storyline.

I love the Sam/Dean conversations and the tension between Sam and Ruby. And some of this is really funny. :) And you don't just necessarily want to hit reset at 60 if you have friends and a whole life you're not ready to let go of and start over with no one... (But yeah, his friend was totally a cold murderer...) I'll give you the swords vs. rope.... that never occurred to me before. But really, you gotta just give them that on production cost -- invisible swords look cool and are easier than visible ones. Invisible rope would be difficult and expensive...

Charlie was played by a father and son... son looks like father. The poster was son, looking like a younger version of father... hince, it was the OLD Charlie in th poster and that was the someone.
