The Vampire Diaries books were written in the 80s. They are way better than the show.

OMG if you actually continue with this show... it gets so good after like the first 5 episodes. It starts off all Twilight-y at first but then kickstarts into a fast paced action packed show that just happens to have Vampires and witches, etc. I guarantee you will more than like the first Season and then Season 2 is even better!

The Vampire Diaries is an awesome show after the first few episodes, it's like they needed some time to find out what they wanted to do but after the first arc is done (after 6 or 7 episodes iirc) they introduce some new characters and concepts and from then on it's great.

When the girl gets snatched up in the beginning gave me The Lost Boys vibes. I love that movie.

Kevin Williamson co-created this series. He wrote the Scream movies, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and created Dawson's Creek so he does horror and teen drama well. I didn't think you would like it but if you liked the pilot, you may very much enjoy the series. I read the books in middle school (yes, I'm an old) and I find what the writers did with the show so much better. Then again, there were only 4 books back then. More have been written since the show became popular. There's a reason this show has 7 seasons and 2 spin-offs. (Though I honestly think you'd enjoy the 2nd Spin-off the most.) If you did the series, the fanbase would definitely come. They are die hard and all over patreon ans YouTube.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the pilot, it only gets better from here. True story I started watching this with my GF at the time as kind of an obligation so I kinda pretended to like it just because we would spend time together on Thursday nights (I think it was on Thursdays) and just chill and watch a show together. I admit I wanted to hate it because of the whole Twilight thing going on but I secretly loved it. I kept watching even after we broke up and the show gets good bro, like REALLY GOOD. I hope you at least finish Season 1 :) I may have to up my tier in order to make this happen!

Love TVD... still have yet to watch the last season due to spoilers I was told and just can't get there... yet. Someday perhaps. Still need to get back into TO so that I can @ some point watch Legacy. Dude, you got so many good shows you and your bother are reacting too that I feel split on what I wanna watch first.
