The music in the Road So Far for this episode was awful. It's not the original music, so it just doesn't work as well. The Road So Far is just what it says. Summarizing the season, since those of us who watched in real time had a whole season (9 months) behind us and may have needed the reminders. It's always a good idea to watch the Road So Far for the season finale's. Which are often 2 episodes, so watching it for both of them. They got the gun from the vampires - already loaded. So whatever was in the gun was what they had. Must have been that Elkin's didn't finish loading it before the vampires killed him. Dean was 4 years old, and Sam 6 months old, when Mary was killed. Dean was 26 at the beginning of this season. So, 22 years have passed. I think demons like to hear themselves talk. And play with their toys. Otherwise you'd never get a chance to escape, or get one over on them. That hesitation by Sam has everyone yelling at him to "shoot!". But it's understandable, I guess. The 2nd demon coming into the scene with Meg and John is basically pointing to the significance of John being a badass. They are worried enough about him that they had 2 go against him instead of just Meg. Looks like Meg was acting subservient to the other one. Lots of questions? That's exactly what they want. The episode was decent - actually pretty good, but I can understand your perspective. Some of it may have been a bit slow, but it was nice seeing John with them finally. Back in 2005 I thought it was good. The special effects were limited due to limited budget. Which continues to be an issue forever. lol The show was still developing and sowing it's oats at the time. I personally think season 2 is much better. But that doesn't mean you will. Depends on what you feel is important.

Completely agree about the music! And the music switch is especially painful in this one, since it should be the first Carry On. :) So SO glad they have the streaming music rights after S1. Superwiki: "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas (plays during "The Road So Far" recap of events) "Calling" by Soberskin (plays during "The Road So Far" recap of events; Netflix version)
