Important safety tip. DON'T mix different cold medicines. When I was in the Navy I went to medical and the corpsman gave me a med for each symptom. It made me so loopy I nearly fell overboard three times while working. The Chief corpsman was there when I went back and we he saw all the different meds he chewed out the corpsman and sent me to bed the rest of the day. He told the corpsman that giving me all that could have killed me, that mixing all those harmless cold meds could have stopped my heart. So pick one and stick with it.

Oh damn, yea I feel that's what is going on. Mixing stuff that shouldnt be mixed in an attempt to get over it quicker but I feel out of it.

Sarah Jane Smith was a companion to the 3rd and 4th doctors.

Kenny wasn't in any of the classes because he's not allowed to have any "chips" aka french fries. Presumably his parents had him on a special diet.

There was a spin off series geared towards younger kids that started after this episode called "The Sarah Jane Adventures". It lasted until the actress died at age 65.

Don't you know? It has changed! The new emergency number is 0118 999 881 999 119 725 3! (and yes, I know that number from memory, I'm that kind of a nerd)

Funny coincedence: Spike's introduction to Buffy was in season 2, episode 3 called "School Hard". Sarah-Jane's re-introduction to Who (and Tony Head's guest stint) was in season 2, episode 3 called "School Reunion"

When I first started watching Doctor Who in the late 70's Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor) and Sarah Jane were my first Doctor and Companion so I was so excited when Sarah Jane and K-9 appeared in this episode. I loved this episode. So nostalgic.

I loved Sarah in this episode and I think for people not familiar with her from the classic series it was a great look into how much the companions and people that have traveled with the Doctor really mean to him. He was so excited to see Sarah investigating and exploring and living her life having amazing adventures. The bonds that form between the Doctor and companions are a powerful thing, and I liked that we explored the more tragic parts of it with Sarah and her being left and then coming back to meet him again. The Doctor does a lot of amazing things, but there is also bad that comes with it and I always love when that is explored. The ending scene when he called her "My Sarah Jane" always just warms my heart and is exactly why I love this show so much. The character relationships are just incredible and so meaningful to me. This episode is one of my favorites and most rewatched from this season for that reason. Sorry for all these super late comments lol I have so much catching up to do, but still wanted to comment something.

Sarah Jane smith was a companion of the Doctor from Jon Pertwee 1974 the Time Warrior to Tom Baker1976 The Hand of fear she was a reporter who in order to get a story, sneaked onto the TARDIS she became someone who cared for the Doctor and saved him. However it never went beyound frindship. However the Doctor cared about Sarah very deeply as well many thought something would happen and they would be more, however The Doctor got a call for help from the TimeLords and he had to send Miss. Smith away, he them went on his own alone intoThe Deadly Assassin. The dates of the shows Do not include the dates of the Doctor, Jon Pertwee as you were already told ran from 1970-1974 and had 23 stories while Tom Baker 1974-1981 had 40 stories, Sarah Jane Smith was the longest running companion, While Tom Baker the longest running Doctor.

I don't know if it's available for streaming, but "K-9 and Company", which only a pilot episode was ever made, is really good. It was the first attempt at a Sarah Jane spinoff with K-9.
