Aha perfect timing as I'm stuck in tonight and was feeling bored. Thanks.

Trying to answer some of your questions without spoilers. Bad Wolf and the TARDIS, The TARDIS is a time machine but it also has a consciousness at its heart which is also sort of synonymous with the time vortex energy which allows the time travel since the time vortex contains all of space and time and dimensions hence TARDIS = Time And Relative Dimension In Space. When Rose looked into the time vortex she absorbed both the energy that powers time and dimensional travel and the consciousness that exists within it. If you listen carefully when she is talking to the Doctor in her altered state, when she says "my doctor," that is the consciousness of the TARDIS talking not Rose. When Rose says she creates herself she means the "Bad Wolf" version which is her in the altered state with the time vortex running through her and TARDIS consciousness. She takes the words "Bad Wolf" and scatters them through time and space to lead herself back to that moment she becomes "Bad Wolf"(bootstrap paradox) and she is able to do it because she has the time vortex running through her so that she is able to affect past, present and future - basically manipulate time and reality if you like. The Bad Wolf reference recurs throughout the series not as a coincidence but as future Bad Wolf Rose laying bread crumbs to lead her back tot he moment she becomes Bad Wolf to be able to do it (again bootstrap paradox). You are never going to get perfect explanations in a show about an alien time traveller who basically relies on a magic wand but this actually made some sense.

The guy who won't go with Jack. We have to remember that Jack is a perfect stranger to him and the Daleks may as well have just been an old myth - what does he think Jack is telling him to go with him for if not the Daleks? Who knows, it isn't relevant. What is relevant is that he has no reason to trust Jack or go with him. Try this analogy; you are in some place and some stranger tells you dinosaurs are coming to eat you. You'd likely say dinosaurs were extinct millions of years ago. And even if he seemed sincere and said if you stay here, a place you have no reason not to believe you are safe, you're going to die - would just say okay and go with them? What is more dangerous, some strange guy telling you dinosaurs will eat you if you don't go with him, or dinosaurs that you know were extinct millions of years ago?

David Broome

The bullet thing. That wasn't explained well but I'm pretty sure that was just Jack lying to give them hope and get them to fight to buy the Doctor some time. So that guy was sort of right not to trust him since Jack got them all killed.

The Doctor, coward or killer? I'm not sure if you missed it but it was well signposted that the Delta wave was going to fry Earth and wipe out humanity as well as the Daleks. The impossible choice for the Doctor was whether to kill all or kill nobody but in killing nobody know humanity would be enslaved by the Daleks. The reason he chooses the latter "coward" rather than "killer" is because logically humanity would at least still be alive and have some kind of hope no matter how small if he didn't activate the Delta wave but also he still has incredible guilt about already committing genocide in the Time war when faced with a similar choice. There was no other plan, the Doctor doesn't always win.

Regeneration. When the Doctor regenerates he retains the memories of past versions of himself but his appearance and personality change. Some parts of his older personalities are repeated like echos while others disappear to be replaced by completely new traits. This means the Doctor while consistent as one Doctor can react quite differently to the same situation than past versions. Consider the Doctor conflicted.

How did "Bad Wolf" Rose bring back Jack I already explained and more than that would be a spoiler. Why didn't she bring back everybody? Good question, maybe she was going to but just didn't get that far before burning out and Jack was foremost in her mind. Why leave Jack behind? That is a spoiler too. The Kiss? It was only pseudo romantic, it was the Doctor transferring the time vortex from Rose to himself so he could return it to the TARDIS. That was a lot of typing, told you I was bored LOL.. PS there is a short between this and the Xmas special which has Rose interacting with the new Doctor you may wish to watch.

There is a mini episode in between this and the Christmas episode. It's on Youtube and is only a few minutes long. Here is the link if you need it. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3n3qej The first two minutes are the last two minutes of the episode you just watched.

Her being the Bad Wolf is a paradox called the bootstrap paradox. It works like this: Guy is a huge fan of Elvis. He knows all his songs, knows all his moves but Elvis is long dead. Guy gets a time machine, goes back to get Elvis's autograph. He gets to the time just before Elvis becomes famous and he can't find Elvis anywhere. So the guy takes Elvis's place to make sure Elvis will still be famous and all the songs will still exist. The paradox is who wrote all of Elvis's songs?

Don't worry you'll grow to love David Tenant, I'm not gonna lie I was a bit salty the first time I watched this episode coz I also loved Chris, but trust me after a few episodes you'll get used to him. x

Gibbzee

Would definitely recommend copying that link and watching it in incognito Geeked, otherwise you're going to star getting doctor who recommendations and you'll be heavily spoiled in no time. (Actually Kristen would you mind editing your comment with a disclaimer? I just don't want him to click it and screw himself over lol. Thanks!)

David Broome did a good job answering all your questions and explaining what happened in this episode. It’s not easy to get everything that’s happening on first viewing.

Will you watch Torchwood, the spin-off show that starts at the end of the second season of doctor who?

Paul Gibson

Torchwood splits the fandom but I love it

The Daleks appeared in the second-ever Doctor Who story in 1963. Back then, the stories were combined of 4-6 episodes at 25 min runtime per episode. They didn't have seasons as we understand them. The origins of the Daleks was explained in a 4th Doctor story called "Genesis of the Daleks" from 1975.

I almost quit watching DW when Nine regenerated, but I'm so glad I didn't because Ten is my favorite Doctor.
