Ari is my Cat

The newspaper story was about the woman from the last episode who was attacked and survived. It was letting us know that she died to set up what Sgt. Doax was about to do.

I was startled at first when you were laughing at the scene with Harry (Dexter’s father) apparently dying in the hospital until you mentioned the wig. Personally it doesn’t bother me. As to why they didn’t use the actor who play the younger version of the character, I think it was deliberate, so they wouldn’t show the gruesome killing by a teenager of a naked woman strapped to a bed after a brutal attack. I know that by today’s standards in television it would be considered tame, but at the time it was not often seen. Another explanation is to show, that Dexter with his “adult” face, having completed his training is committing his first kill of a human.

I didn’t want to comment on the title sequence until you saw it and reacted to it. Unsettling isn’t it? Everyday actions and gestures shown in as much as menacing possible way. The monsterous hidden underneath the mundane.

The wigs were ridiculous, I agree. I laughed too. ..I believe they were both in college.. Probably around 10 years before.

Yea they were. I guess that's why they couldn't get other actors. 10 years wouldn't be enough to make them look so drastically different.

I hope this isn't a spoiler, but we find out later that Dexter committed his first murder when he was 19 or 20.
