Luffy not listening to the story isn't him being selfish...it gets explained later but not very good...basically he's saying he doesn't care what reasons she has he's gonna trust her no matter what...

1 Nami is 10 in this backstory because this was 8 years ago and belamere got mad because of what nami said think about it like this if you adopted a kid and you had a biological kid you would not want the biological kid to say thing like nami said because you be raised as sisters 2 I don't know if the makes any sense but I can seem a little messed up but with luffy you have to read between the line and what he meant when he said he does care about her past abd you may have not notice this old episodes luffy that concerned people past he olny care about thier present and the their future so to him the past is not that important because it not going stop from helping. 3 the last episode when just want to sleep lol less be real we all know that he was not going to leave that Island without nami like I sometime he does he is told by of members of his crew are people who might be apart of his crew as you have in the past nami told to leave but like I said we knew he was going to do that but telling him to leave was telling not get involved so unless she other wise we know he is not going to do anything for example back in usopp's hame town he did nothing until usopp said so 4 luffy has great ability to read people and the situation like when zoro was fight mihawk and johnny and yosaku tired to interfere P.S sorry for this being so long

Luffy didn't want to hear nami backstory because it doesn't matter to him. Nami is his friend and hearing her backstory isn't going to change how he feels about her. Luffy is actually a really great character but just doesn't like talking, so he doesn't explain his actions a lot of the time.
