I think they wanted to transition jesse into the jingle job and had to cut him from being an exterminator. Jesse mentioned the past couple episodes about wanting to quit so they had to do it. But yeah, it's an okay episode. As always, with so many seasons, there are gonna be weaker ones that are just to move the plot. But also, Jesse doesn't really need a lot of money since he's living rent free and his new job likely pays enough to just get him by until he gets better.
