With all that I still think I’m Carly is a good person and her being bratty is ok. I blame it more on the writers and showrunner not wanting to show her learn a lesson and understand why Spencer says what he says. This whole episode would have been great if they included a scene where Spencer tells her why he doesn’t want her with the bad boy and it’s because he is responsible and he don’t want anything to happen to her and her to be hurt by a bad guy.

this ep is one of the most annoying in the entire show. i even think sam and freddie were out of character for finding griffin's collection so repulsive. i forgot how this played out and expected sam to just be like oh lol that's kinda nerdy and funny but it's sweet and carly should have a sweet guy? like i imagined her acknowledging that it's not 'masculine' but being like who cares? esp after you pointed out how freddie and spencer are some of the people closed to carly and sam. i esp don't like how the show genuinely depicted this quirk about griffin to be undesirable and babyish. i think most girls would die for an attractive, 'masculine', guy with a soft ('feminine') side. this ep didn't age well to say the least. but i don't even know if it was acceptable for it's time either. think of the ep when sam tried to be girlier but the conclusion was that it's not odd to be tough and be a girl, and sam went back to herself. i think the strict gender norms and sexism in this ep are very contradictory and weird.
